I am a father of 3 and have spent the better part of the last 16 years mostly raising them on my own. My oldest son is now in the Navy, my daughter is in her 2nd year of college and my youngest son is now a Senior in High Skewl! Finally, time is freeing up and has swung back in my favor, Yes!!!
I'm an active guy and not known for sitting still for very long and would love to meet a woman that enjoys some of the things I enjoy and can keep up. I will be turning 54 this year but don’t feel anywhere near my age. Age is just a number! I'm often told or mistaken for someone who is 40 and act like someone who is 30. I'm still very active, almost as active as I was in my 20's and 30's and enjoy almost everything there is to do in the outdoors. I play in a Sunday baseball league and an occasional baseball tournamnet either local or away. It's always a good day to play baseball! I also I enjoy playing softball, going snowboarding or skiing, cycling, camping, fishing and hunting. I also like to get into the gym a few times a week and run an occasional 5K or 10K. When I was younger I use to go backpacking often and I sure would like to start doing so again. Aside from playing baseball I also do my share of umpiring for youth, high school and adult league baseball. My goal is to make it as an umpire at the college level in 2 or 3 more years which I’m working hard at.
I would enjoy meeting a woman who is active and fit and looks just as good in a pair of jeans as she does in a dress, a woman that enjoys the outdoors and loves to stay active. I believe the more we have in common the more enjoyable our relationship will be. I’ve been in relationships where my life has come to a standstill because my other half isn’t adventurous or enjoys little or no activities. I just assume stay single rather than get to that point again!
Over the years I have invested much of my free time in my children and time has gotten away from me. So many of my friends and people I know have gotten remarried and can't help but wonder how that hasn't happened for me. Now I'm at a point in my life where I want to meet a woman to settle down with. I’m just an average guy that enjoys the simple things in life. I love to laugh and smile just as much as the next guy or gal does, that’s an absolute no-brainer! I enjoy making a funny and enjoy it when I can make someone laugh. I live in jeans, t-shirt (summer), sweatshirt (winter) and flip-flops but have been told that I clean up well. I enjoy going out to dinner, movies, cooking (enjoy cooking), quiet nights at home, you name it. Can you keep up?

When you first meet me, I may seem to be a simple, and slightly shy person; however, I do have a hidden rich history of skills and talents, plus I am quite adaptable to different environments. For example, In my younger years, I rounded up cattle worked out in the hay fields then; in my twenties and thirties, I was a timber faller (Lumber Jack) in Northern California for over a decade. A very skilled timber faller who was a true environmentalist (if timber is a necessity for human society, who better to do it then someone who loves the woods and will do everything in his power to do the best work possible to avoid waste and breakage of this valuable resource). Toward the end of my logging career, I decided that I wanted to do a 360 and go to college and get a computer science degree. It took me a few years; however, here I am today working in the computer science field (IT).
What am I looking for; The Ideal Match? Is there such thing as an Ideal Match, after all we are only human; however, if there was a perfect match, judging from my experience, it would have to be someone that is secure with who they are, some one that has a strong ethical sense of right and wrong, some one that is open minded, some one that is not self-centered and can view things from another’s perspective, someone who is outgoing, independent, caring, understanding, witty, trustworthy and also continually strives for self-improvement.
