Since I am half Japanese I also listen to some Japanese acts such as H-Man, Rip Slyme, Munehiro, Kreba, Thelma Aoyama, and of course Utada Hikaru.
When I watch television I enjoy Flight of the Conchords, Dexter, True Blood, The Walking Dead, Workaholics, Survivorman, The Ultimate Fighter, Bored To Death, and pretty much anything on Discovery.
In my spare time I like to play guitar (don't get your hopes up I'm not that good), getting out into nature, cooking delicious meals for family and friends, and my passion which is Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. If you don't know what it is please google it.

I ventured out here to match once prior and had some good experiences and well, some that were left to be desired and some really interesting ones.
I am here again somewhat still skeptical but giving it another shot.
I am a solid man in good shape with great European heritage. I grew up in Europe and moved to Sacramento about 5 years ago. I lived in San Diego for 8 years before and prior I was in a beautiful city in Europe. I studied many things including culinary art, business, real estate that gives me a unique view of the world. I also traveled to many countries especially in Europe.

A lot of you out there claming how tough, independent, strong you are. Is that the measurement nowadays for a quality woman, or success? Are you tough enough to care for months for your own sick family member? Are you tough enough to keep your good attitude during bad times? Well, first let me say that I am not posting here on Match expecting to find true love or my "soul mate" ... that's asking an awful lot from a dating website! But you miss 100% of the shots you never take ... so here I am. :)
Me? I find it hard to describe myself. Others have told me they consider me intelligent, funny, caring ... in short, apparently I'm awesome. So you should date me. If you do, remind me to go back and thank those people that said such nice things about me! (And slip them that $20 I promised them).
I DO like to laugh and I love to learn. I love my friends and family and am happy to help when they need it (or when I think they might appreciate it). I'm generally a private person (which is why posting here is so out of character for me), but - on the other hand - I'm happy to tell pretty much anyone anything they might like to know about me. I'm a hard worker. I own a business and work at it constantly - there is ALWAYS something to do. I enjoy it, so it is not a burden ... but it does not leave me a lot of time for "fun", which is OK with me because I find it very enjoyable.
I hate to say it, but I'm a sap ... I enjoy a good love story. I like action and adventure, intrigue, comedies, scifi, thrillers and murder mysteries ... but I'm a sucker for a well done love story.
I love kids. I like hanging out with them and goofing around. I'm a pretty big goofball at heart. Speaking of kids, I have a daughter who is almost 13 and is AMAZING. No really, she is! She's waaaay more awesome than I am. Which (if we're to believe those other people who said such nice things about me) is pretty incredible.
I'm divorced, but don't worry about baggage. That marriage was over 12 years ago and my ex and I long ago became more like brother and sister than anything else. It was the best way for us to raise our daughter. I've been single since then. I decided to concentrate on being a dad and make sure I was available to my daughter. Now, she's getting older and doing more things herself, so I have a bit more room in my life, but she is still my top priority.
Ummm ... what else? Let's see ... I love to read. And to write (as you may have noticed, since I haven't shut up yet!). I still have a quiet desire to be a novelist. (Well, mostly quiet ... every once in a while it stands up and makes some rude noise. Usually all it takes is for me to write a chapter or two and it lapses back into a brooding sort of silence).
I live a simple, but mostly fulfilling, life and it's going to take something fairly earth shaking to get me to make major changes to it. I'm very comfortable being by myself. Comfortable silences with someone I care about are also a good friend of mine.
What am I looking for? That's even harder for me to pin down than describing myself. I'm looking for someone I really, really like. I know ... helpful, right? I'm looking for someone I can make a connection with. Life is a cooperative endeavor ... it's much easier to do with someone you are truly connected with. I don't have a laundry list of "you have to like this" or "you have to like that"s. It'd certainly be nice if you're fit and enjoy taking care of yourself. After 12 years of not really doing that, I've very much gotten back into living a more healthy lifestyle. It'd be great if you like being outdoors, or traveling. It'd be nice if you're creative - like to write, paint, make music, cook, design, etc. Whatever it is you like - if you're passionate about it, well that's an awfully big plus to me.
Be young at heart. That's an important one. Have a positive outlook on life. I'm looking for someone with energy and a drive to enjoy life's challenges.

Date a man from United States. My friends are all creative types, and I find myself falling into the same category. While they have chosen paintbrushes, Macs, ,microphones or turntables as their tools of trade, mine are different: knives, cutting boards and a hot grill seem to my current creative tools. I'm a media buyer/marketing manager in my 9-5, and food truck owner for every hour in between. I'm a busy guy, but love it- there's nothing like finding purpose in passion.
Food and cooking are probably my favorite two pastimes. I really enjoy different types of ethnic foods; the authentic, unadulterated stuff that can usually only be found at hole-in-the-wall restaurants. I'm a sucker for a great thin crust pizza, banh mi, nigiri, and bowls of hot ramen or pho- even on hot days. As far as cooking goes, I'm pretty much into anything. Current favorite things to cook would be: simple pastas with garlic/chili flakes/lemon/asparagus topped with a fried egg, porchetta (who doesn't LOVE pork belly?), roasted chicken, and oxtail.
I'm born and raised in Sacramento, raised in a very progressive family environment. I value my family and friends greatly. I can't begin to express how thankful I am to have such a great support system in my life, and I do everything that I can to reciprocate. I believe in karma, paying things forward and treating everyone with mutual respect. I take pride in being able to lead, plan and inspire. I find purpose in empowering people, and try to do so on a daily basis.
I've had a pretty eventful life thus far, and I plan on continuing the pace. I lived in LA for quite a bit before moving home, and have been on the go since. I'm not all busy however- from time to time, I have a great relationship with my sofa, and like to zone out with some TV every once in a while.
I'm pretty easily entertained. . Whether it's geeky stuff like going to the Planetarium in SF, catching a concert, getting lost in a museum, or just strolling around Midtown- I'm pretty much game for anything. I'm not much of a club guy these days, but like catching a few drinks with friends at local dives. I really enjoy just cooking a bunch, opening up a few bottles of wine and inviting friends over to devour everything. Since I'm working so much these days, I've learned a great new appreciation for Netflix and "take it easy" sort of nights. Bowling will likely not be in the plans, unless you want to see me humiliate myself. Yes, that bad. Dancing is not my strength either, but I'm not that bad after a few drinks. I don't get embarrassed at all, so feel free to crack jokes. Just expect a few back at you too!
