Hiking is my favorite form of exercise because it relieves a lot of my stress. (I hate the gym, I always feel like a hamster on a wheel when I get on treadmills or eliptical machines). I grew up near the ocean so I love going to the beach and just walking to clear my mind, and I like riding my bike - my bright orange beach cruiser is pretty awesome and I just bought a basket for it; all I need now is a bell!
I have a good life and am grateful to be happy and healthy, but I also realize that not everyone is as fortunate as I am. In addition to my regular routine I enjoy helping others, so I volunteer my time to a non-profit that provides beauty services to terminally ill and recovering clients and their caregivers (people with cancer, Parkinson's, stroke survivors, etc.). People often think of beauty treatments like facials as a luxury, but they are more than that.
Beauty services like facials are nice to do for another because they involve patience, understanding, kindness, and most importantly a loving human touch. The people I serve are being poked and prodded all day long by doctors and nurses. When I can go in and provide them with just one hour of conversation, companionship and stress-relieving massage in the comfort of their homes, they are always grateful and happy when I leave. I usually serve older people, so they always want me to stay longer for coffee and a little chat. I love chatting with older people, they always have the best stories.
I'm looking for someone who is kind and as ambitious as I am. I am very outgoing and have a pretty good sense of humor (I know I'll make you laugh!), so a man who can take a joke and laugh at himself occasionally is definitely what I need. I am not shy about asking questions if I don't understand things or if I just want to know more. Education is very important to me, and a man with an intelligent mind who can challenge me appeals to me the most. I can talk to anyone, but the man I want to be with should be interesting and have something of substance to talk about.
Obviously there is more to a relationship than this, but I think this is a good starting point. You don't have to be religious, but please have faith in some type of higher existence because I do and that means a lot to me. Just got back from traveling throughout Europe and Africa for the winter. One of my favorite places was a small town in Basque Country Spain called Mundaka. The town is famous for its surf.
