Date a soulmate from California, United States. I read somewhere that Capricorns age backwards. And I'm finding that to be true.
I started my own company at a young age and had a lot of responsibility. I still have the business (which is based in Beverly Hills, but I live in Long Beach and telecommute most days). But, as a backward aging Capricorn, I have realized that early responsibility robbed me of a bit of my youthful fun and have decided to try to make up for that now. I've relaxed a lot more about appearances and looking foolish. I'm really trying to make the time for the ridiculous and sublime. As such, I have a side passion for photography and could even be considered "semi-pro" at this point. I just had my first group exhibit. I also have an organic community garden plot and love to dig in the dirt! Life gets really clear in the growing cycles of a garden. I'm a regular Laura Ingalls with the planting, harvesting, and canning. There are 50 pounds of tomatoes turned into homemade sauce in my freezer and pints of jam in the pantry as I type.
I love to explore the far and wide (Bhutan/Tibet/Egypt etc) as well as the near and small (water taxi to The Queen Mary). I love weekend explorations, but have also been blessed enough to have had some pretty wild and exotic trips. I'd love a partner who had that spirit of adventure, too. I'm really hoping to meet a man who likes to do active things outside, particularly hike or ride bikes. I am very committed to my yoga classes and have just begun a meditation practice, so would like a partner who will give me space and time to continue to foster those things.
I volunteer as a CART advocate which means that once a month or so I am on call overnight/weekend and if a child has been abused, I act as the advocate at the hospital through the police and forensic exams. I can choose my on call times and amounts, so it's pretty flexible and doesn't really get in the way of a social life, but I would love a partner who had a sense of commitment to the community and at least once in awhile would be willing to go do some volunteer work with me, be it guerrilla gardening one morning or food bank at Christmas etc...
Honestly, I'm looking for someone who makes me laugh, has a sense that there is something bigger in the Universe than us, takes a deep breath when things are tough and then chooses to work towards solutions rather than react or retreat. I want to share my life with a man who wants to live an expansive life in spirit and mind. I desire a man who can be romantic and playful, but not a man-boy. I'm an independent woman, but love old fashioned touches and will swoon if you open my car door (seriously, I love that), walk on the traffic side of the sidewalk, or think to run the bath for me after a hard day. I'm attracted to men who are in touch with their artist in whatever manner that appears (good cook, builds furniture, plays a mean Stairway to Heaven on the acoustic guitar...) I absolutely need the man I spend my time with to be honorable AND honest.
Finally, I just want my heart to beat fast whenever I see him walk through the door.

I am divorced and have 2 kids who "live" with me and go to LBCC, I love them and they are my best thing. I got divorced in December and love my new little place. Sometimes I like my own space.

I didn't really get the full chick package: I don't cook (but I make a mean guacamole?) I do clean. I don't shop, get my nails done, or buy 'product' for my hair that costs more than 5 bucks. But I couldn't find true North if my life depended on it. I don't like getting flowers, because they just die and that depresses me. Power tools scare me - I think men should operate them.
I do the LA Times Sunday crossword in pen, so I'm not tempted to make rash choices . . .
ADDENDUM: so wow, I finally 'joined' and now I am overwhelmed! The "No thanks" thing feels harsh, but you have to be able to sort through what Match call 'matches' somehow . . . I am NOT slender, toned, or religious - so anyone who listed those as important is going to be disappointed with me.
