Date a soulmate from California, United States. Moments in life that have offered me magical delight: sitting on the deck of a catamaran at sunset on Lake Tahoe with cocktail in hand listening to reggae tunes; bobbing in the warm ocean around sunset in Cabo; rock-star-style helicopter ride from Hong Kong to Macau; standing at the top of Glencoe with mists swirling all around; winter sunrise over Sacre Coeur.
Born in Britain, settled in America 25 years ago, I still have a slight accent, though my English friends would tell you I sound "totally" American.
I also have a British sense of humor. A quick primer/fair warning: As a general rule, Brits are more irreverent, take ourselves less seriously, than Americans. We like to make fun of ourselves—and each other. You've heard the expression, "taking the Mickey"? Think Rowan Atkinson, Jasper Carrot, Billy Connolly, Craig Ferguson, (NOT Benny Hill).
I grew up in the Middle East, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines, and attended boarding school in Yorkshire. I loved my childhood experience of travel and the confidence and independence I gained from it. I enjoy the kind of sophisticated conversation that comes from knowledge of literature and culture and a certain level of worldliness.
I am open to trying new things. Like sushi. 20 years ago, I'd tried sashimi once and hated it. I tried it again recently and now I find that I love it.
You should connect with me if: you find an almost British accent utterly compelling and you are taller than me in heels (5'10") — or have a taller personality than me in heels.
