Let me tell you a little bit about me and also what IРІР‚в„ўm looking for. I owned a business in the eldercare field for about 25 years but I sold it three years ago. I am a Methodist and attend church whenever IРІР‚в„ўm in town. I have travelled quite a bit and so far my favorite international destinations are England, Scotland, Ireland, Costa Rica and, believe it or not, Ukraine. Domestically, I love western North Carolina (I like hiking) and I love big walking-around cities like New York, Boston, Chicago, Washington, DC. I have done some fairly interesting activities like zip-lining over a rain forest, hot air ballooning, para-sailing and some wild ATV rides in western North Carolina mountains. However, I also love sitting on my back porch enjoying a nice glass of red wine and conversation. I'm a pretty good cook and like to cook on the grill (which is on my back porch near my nice glass of red wine). I also love the beach, which is just three hours from me.
My friends tell me I am kind, caring, empathetic, optimistic, funny and a GOOD friend. I love to read and belong to a book club called “Martinis and Manuscripts”. We are a super-fun group and we actually discuss the books too. I also enjoy theater, GOOD movies, concerts and generally participating in life. I believe in service and am very involved in my community.
I have two cats, Sam and Stella, who allow me to live in their house as long as I feed them on time and open the door to let them outside whenever they desire, then back in, then back out, then back in, then back out and so it goes.

My interests are so varied. I love everything from black tie affairs to quiet evenings at home. It is truly who you are with that makes an evening unique. Friends and family are extremely important to me. I have 2 grown, married children who live out of state and I have been blessed with identical twin granddaughters. I am also blessed to have all of my siblings and parents still living although they live out of town. Oh and yes, I have a little Maltese dog, Rowdy, who is my special little "companion" for years.
My interests include dining out, theater, shows, movies, winter nights by the fireplace, summer evenings on the beach or walks in the park, music, reading, church events, sporting events for Alabama or Auburn, ballroom dancing, having friends over, shopping (what woman doesn't love that), just watching tv with that special someone..You will find me enjoying even planting flowers - love the end result and the beauty...The list is endless....I love to go and do but am just as content being at home relaxing. I probably would not be described as a hiker, biker, camper, or fisher.

I hope one day to visit Italy, France, maybe England - I have never been to Europe..I am a kid at heart when it comes to Christmas. He also needs to absolutely love the Christmas holiday season. I would want someone who could truly share the special things including helping me to decorate - especially with a fire in the fireplace.
