Date someone special from California, United States. I ignore winks but will respond to all e-mails and would appreciate the same common courtesy.
I was born, raised, and educated in Europe but have been a Californian for the past 28 years. Although I've lived in big cities (including London, Budapest, and San Francisco) for my entire adult life, I love being in Nature and have a recently developed interest in hiking, trekking, and even backpacking, which has taken me to the Andes and the Alps so far and on a quest to hike on a big mountain every year (eventually on every continent?) and visit as many U.S. National Parks as possible. Nonetheless, I am just as comfortable in 3-inch heels as in my hiking boots and am looking for more opportunities to "dress up".
I am grateful for a sound body and mind, for no regrets, and for being able to continue learning, developing new interests, and evolving as a person.
I am not afraid of doing things and living life on my own but would much prefer to share the experience.
If you are looking for a loving but also exciting and stimulating relationship, try me. And by the way, I am also a very good cook!
My main photo was taken around my birthday in 2010 and the rest at various times in 2009-2010.
After three disappointing months, I am terminating my subscription early January 2011. If interested, I can be reached by e-mail as AnnaA at san.rr. (Road Runner) etc.
Meet a woman from California, United States. I'm friendly, but I'm also somewhat shy by nature, so writing a profile of myself is challenging. I'm a direct and earnest person, am kind-hearted and intelligent, with a sense of humor. I guess you could put me in the category of one who loves "the arts and literature." I also enjoy being outside, finding new challenges and adventures, and have done some traveling and exploring in my life. My family moved a lot as I was growing up, so I've lived in some interesting places (Japan, Germany, the Philippines, and Switzerland...and 6 states in the U.S.)
I recently retired from an enjoyable career as an elementary school teacher and administrator, and am now doing volunteer English/Citizenship and reading tutoring, which is very rewarding. I'm enjoying early retirement and the freedom to try new things and the time to meet new people. I practice Tai Chi and Transcendental Meditation for relaxation and reflection. I took line and swing dance classes recently, which were fun. I exercise frequently and eat well and generally try to live a healthy lifestyle. I was married for 26 years to a wonderful man who passed away four years ago after a long illness. I have no children of my own, but am still in touch with my 3 adult step-children and grand-child from that marriage. I'm ready to try more new things, and am looking for a warm, healthy, intelligent, and humorous man who enjoys a variety of activities. Might that man be you?
