I've done a lot of sailing, both on my own boat (which I no longer have) and also as a crew member on several boat deliveries and repositionings; I'm competent and have ASA certification. I enjoy music of all kinds, including classical music and the grand operas. Travelling, with or without a map, is a passion of mine. I'm left-handed and laugh a lot, often at my own, rather obscure jokes; I love to sing but do so badly. I get it the first time around. I consider myself to be kind, caring and sensuous; I'm outgoing and friendly but I'm also not afraid of being alone and quite enjoy my own company. I'm retired but manage to keep busy, mostly travelling, working on a book, occasionally pouring wine ... just "being". I'm a great cook and can happily produce an intimate dinner for two or throw a grand formal dinner for 20. I have two lovely grown daughters who are very important to me; although I'm divorced, I'm not a Bitter Betty and my ex and I are friends.

For now, let's just say you should be well-read and funny, intelligent and kind, a gentleman with a wild, passionate side. Having good teeth helps too although they don't necessarily have to be your own. I'm financially independent and I expect you to be the same. I don't care about height, or even weight -- well, within reason (no Michelin men). I don't necessarily need or want someone 24/7 but I would hope for someone to share things with: a meal, a movie, travel, a walk, quiet times, not-so-quiet times, conversation, laughter and ... dare I say it ? ... love, if that's in the cards.
