We study for her tests together, which is fun, even when I unnecessarily use algebra to solve fraction word problems. This is 6th grade math, people! The main thing is intellectual curiosity and appreciation of learning. Other lessons, not school ones, but life ones, turn out to be pretty useful. The kind that build strength, happiness, gratitude, and a bunch of lovely character traits that go along with experience and wisdom. But not age - this is Los Angeles - we can't be getting old here. Excellent sources, i.e. storybooks, tell us that girls are beautiful, charming, kind, and kissed by the handsome guy with the horse and castle, in the soft summer moonlight, once upon a time. (In the movies, there’s usually a big production number, like in the middle of Central Park, or something, and everyone sings and dances - very romantic). Anyway, the whole point being, the girl is never old in these stories. To get back to this story, which is supposed to be "about me and who I'm looking for" apparently, here are a few questions I might wonder about a gentleman: does he match his ties with his eyes (not really – no one cares about that - it just rhymes) is he confident without being arrogant, is he cool enough to be goofy and not care, does he like to laugh, is he intelligent, is he kind, does he know what he wants, is he proud of how he’s made his way in this world, is he caring and committed, can he solve problems and enlighten, does he live by a code of honor, ethics and values, does he want to do good, does he like to fix stuff and throw a football, is he still a boy at heart, is he a man’s man, does he love his family. Is he a man to respect and admire. And if he doesn’t believe the dog ate my photos, what about moonlight kisses.
