My father was in the United States Air Force as an Officer and Fighter Pilot. He met my mother while stationed oversea's. My mother didn't want to live a military lifestyle, so they packed up and moved me first to Pennsylvania, where my American lineage dates back to 1678 or so. My ancestor came via Holland and England. My father was an electronics engineer and designed semi conductors for Motorolla in Scottsdale, Arizona, then ITT in West Palm Beach, Florida, then Fairchild in Marin County. This was the place we decided to stay. My mother fell in love with Sonoma County and it was here where I pretty much grew up with my sister and brother. In December, my sister and I sold the house unfortunately, as our immediate family members have passed away over the last three and a half years. Throughout this loss, I have had the opportunity for looking at the world with my eyes wide open. I do not take anything or anyone for granted. I am grateful and feel blessed for every day and everyone whom touches my life no matter how insignificant. I find myself ready to explore a meaningful relationship with a lot of laughter, unencumbered maturity, however, having the ability for looking at the world with fascination and wonderment. Most of all, a best friend and a mate to explore everything together. We must truly like one another! Without liking eachother we will fail miserably at everything we attempt. I've also lived/worked in the woods of New Hampshire, so I've been fortunate to have resided in very different parts of the country and seen many beautiful places in between. But I've yet to travel to Europe! How the heck did THAT happen? At one point, my bucket list was to hike in every major mountain range in the world. Is it still possible, this life time?
Tidbits: I have a deep sense of social justice and concern for the environment. I never had kids, but wouldn't mind being around them, whether my partner had them or I considered mentoring or fostering. But that is NOT a necessity in my life, so please don't let that scare you away. I also have a great affinity to animals--domestic pets, wildlife big and small--I love critters!
