When I was 22 I bought an old 65 Plymouth Fury.Someone along the way had modified it for racing so it was really fast ,had a mean growl when you stepped on the gas,but it also had a lot of problems .One of the problems was an electrical short that seemed to act up on weekly basis ,leaving me stuck at the worst possible times.
To make my life even sweeter I was trying to get over my first broken heart,and felt the need to share my feelings about men with everyone else on the freeway, by displaying a huge sticker ,the size of a banner,that red" A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle."
One day as I was standing stuck on the side of the road,quite surprised, not understanding why guys wouldn't stop to offer assistance to a pretty girl,a semi truck finally pulled over.A very kind looking older man jumped out of the cab,and as he was tinkering around in the engine,we started talking.Chocking back tears I told him my sad story and complained that no one would even stop to help me. The man smiled and said " honey, get that stupid sticker off your back window and that thought out of your head.Don't you know there's someone special for everyone in this world , the secret is to just wait patiently.
He did get the car going and I did remove the offending sticker.
The Fury was sold eventually to a Mexican cab driver who took it across the border,fixed it up,reupholstered it in red velvet, and gave it a new life as a Tijuana taxi cab.
I got a new life too.Many years have passed since then. Now I am a successful business woman driving new cars but I still have a soft spot for the old beasts.
I am yet again following the old man's advice waiting patiently for a special one to come along.(and there are no offensive stickers on my vehicle)

I love traveling for pleasure. In the last year I have been to Nepal, Mexico and Cuba. The more I travel the more I learn about others and myself. I often (6X a year) do business trips to Mexico by myself in questionable areas and have always had great experiences. The more I know the less I know. I love rubbing elbows with the Nepali cab driver in NYC, the sing manufacturer in Central Mexico, and the Brazilian next door neighbor. They all have their own perspective that makes me appreciate the slice of life they offer.
