I do miss the closeness, companionship, the caring and sharing. Although my dog is a great friend, appreciating all attention – while I love him dearly, our conversations are somewhat limited, and canine kisses just do not invoke the same response! I miss that too... (He also has his own bed and sleeps on the floor.)
