Date a man from Larkspur, United States. I’m down-to-earth, friendly, creative, and not afraid to swim against the current. I enjoy my work in a career that sits at the intersection of the life sciences, healthcare, and web development. I practiced law for 15 years or so, then secured an MBA and worked in high tech for several years. In the spring of 2000, my girlfriend was diagnosed with lung cancer and I became her caregiver and an activist in the lung cancer support community. That experience eventually led into healthcare. I work at the institution where my girlfriend was treated and the program that took care of her.
Toby, pictured in the photos, is my third Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. I got him last July as a puppy and he’s a great companion, like Sage, pictured in Superman costume, who I lost at 13 a year ago. I spend lots of time with Toby at dog parks in Marin, Pt. Isabel, Ft. Funsten and others. Yet aside from that, (and including that as well if you like dogs), I have an abundance of free time that would ideally be spent against a backdrop of romance and shared experience.
Left to my own devices, I have been less than ambitious in pursuing varied and novel activities. For now, I’m content on my long evening walks, serenaded by audiobooks and podcasts, peering into the fishbowl of how everyone else is living. But I do long for the days when the weekends consisted of a whole lot more. I could easily see myself travelling and more widely engaging were a romantic companion in the picture.
I have a significant and varied music collection. My favorite artist is Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.
It’s hard to say exactly what I’m looking for in a woman. Because in reality you just don’t know. Find me someone doesn’t want to meet a partner who is intelligent, attracitve, confident etc. Well……. perhaps some of the men in those Missouri counties that voted for Rick Santorum.
Meet someone special from Larkspur, United States. OK, here goes . . . . I've lived in the Bay Area since '76 (in Marin County since '89), so I feel like a native at this point. I'm a "glass half full" kind of guy - I feel strongly that one gets out of life what one puts into it, and focusing on what's positive, with confidence and a good sense of humor, goes a long way toward achieving one's goals. I've got many interests, and I continue to learn and grow - it may sound trite, but I don't ever want to lose touch with that inner kid in all of us, and the sense of amazement when you experience something new and outstanding (a recent example was my first trip to Glacier Point -in a word, incredible). Some of my interests are hiking (I love hiking trails on Mt. Tam locally, and I enjoy exploring new trails on trips out of town), playing acoustic guitar (I play Bluegrass, but don't worry, I also play Blues and Rock), seeing movies (I was a Radio-TV-Film major in Undergrad, so if you want to talk film, I'm your guy), sports, and music. I was an avid road and mountain cylcist before getting into hiking (it's amazing how much more you see and hear hiking rather than riding), and I work out 3 to 4 times a week at a Club (I'll admit to being addicted to Endorphins). I'm not much of a cook (except for barbecuing, at which I excel), so finding great restaurants is a self-preservation interest.
I'm looking for a woman who is bright and has a similar quest for enjoyment of life, someone with common interests, yet someone I can learn from and who can also surprise me (relationships, like life generally, should never be boring). As the Suzuki quote in my Moto mentions, there is magic in the World, and I'm looking for someone who is looking for it too. If you enjoy going to a great fancy restaurant, but your also at home on a hiking trail or at the beach (perhaps doing all three in the same day), that is great in my book. I have shared custody of my daughter (who is 17 years old), and she's a very important part of my life. Between quality time with my daughter, work commitments (I'm an attorney in downtown SF), and everything else, my life can get hectic from time to time. If you are someone who also has an active life, and can relate, that's a good thing in my view. Having a good sense of humor is a must. And if your a Giants fan, that's an added plus!
So . . . if this sounds interesting to you, let's see where this journey may go.
