Date someone special from Tujunga, United States. I’ve lived an extraordinary life. I’ve been blinded, crippled and paralyzed. I’ve broken ribs, my nose, arm, leg and back. Over the years I’ve needed physical rehab on three separate occasions to re-learn how to walk. I’ve had more time than most to sit around and think about what’s important.
I’ve always loved the night sky. I’ve been an amateur astronomer since I was old enough to hold my head up. I’ve spent countless nights alone in the desert and mountains, subdued by the enormity of creation and the profundity of our existence.
I’ve always loved the ocean. The sound and smell of it calls to something primitive in me. I love scale and power of it and the way its horizon interacts with the sky. Whether I’m hiking the shore line or scuba diving in a kelp forest I find a deep sense of satisfaction in these environments.
I’ve always loved women. I grew up in a house full of women. I didn’t realize at the time how these early years would shape my life. My parents were two exceptional souls. They taught me to love people, conversation and books. They taught me there is no such thing as a stranger past my saying “hello”. Somehow, without really trying, they taught me to live without fear. I’ve always understood the brevity of this life. No tomorrow is ever promised.
My last girlfriend is still my best friend. Our romance didn’t last but she gave me something unexpected that did. Her two sons were just 4 and 8 when we met 11 years ago. Today they are my family, my godsons. At 15 and 19 they are practically grown men. They are my best work. I’ve poured everything I am into them. They’ve made me a better man in the process.
I’m ready. I’m passed ready. My soul aches to find and to be with my life’s lover and companion. If there has been fault, the fault lies with me. I’ve selfishly loved every moment of my life. My spring and summer have turned to fall. I’m ready to share what comes next.
