Date single man from Simi Valley, United States. I am 63 years old. I survived 33 years in law enforcement, raised 2 wonderful children and lived with the same woman and best friend for 36 years. Together, we overcame Breast cancer in 05, and recently faced Pancreatic and liver cancer together.
I am comfortable in me and who I am. I don’t pretend to be something I am not nor do I feel I have to prove anything to anyone. I don’t hang out in bars or night clubs. I enjoy a good night out and also enjoy home life. My daughter and grandson live out of state and visit regularly. My son gave up his job and moved back home when his mother was diagnosed with cancer, and is now starting to get his life back in order.
The one thing I have come to realize is that life is short with no guarantees. To steal a phrase from someone, we are in the 7th inning of our lives and we should enjoy every minute with that special someone without drama, games, deceit, deception, lies or half truths.
Reading profiles from other postings, they are pretty much the same, “friends and family describe me as”, kind, loving, dedicated, romantic, and gentle, caring, easy going, etc.etc.etc., and mine would read pretty much the same. It think the only true way to really know someone, is through conversation and their actions. As we know, we can say anything in our profile, but it’s our actions that speak the loudest.
I strongly believe any long term, any serious relationship takes work. First and foremost, there has to be TRUTH, TRUST, HONESTY, and good COMMUNICATION.
My music interest are mostly from the 60"s, soft jazz, country, R B with such artist as Pattie Austin, Patti LaBell, Olete Adams and Anita Baker to name a few.
What I am looking for in a woman, Wow. How do you described the feeling you get from such a simple thing as a touch, hold hands or how you feel inside when you look into their eyes and feel you have touch their soul.
I don’t know if we get a second chance at finding that certain someone, that best friend, but I would like to think we do and possible the best is yet to come.
