Date someone special from United States. I was a trial lawyer, but now semi-retired and I am a mediator. I love making peace as opposed to war. I am an intuitive problem solver.
I love to travel. I research all my trips and make my own arrangements. I stay in small hotels and country inns of character and charm. I love Spain and the southwest part of France. Biarritz and the French Basque country are fabulous, The Picos de Europa and Santiago de Compostela are mystical and very spiritual. I have also been to The Czech Republic and Slovenia. Best places on the trip were Salzburg and surrounding lakes, Cesky Krumlov, and Bled. I would enjoy having a simpatico partner who is as adventurous as I am .
I love to tease and be teased. I have been told that I am good looking with a mischevious smile and a wicked sense of humor.
I am fairly athletic, but mostly for fun. I ski and play golf. I love the beauty of the courses and the social nature of the game.
I am an avid reader of fiction and nonfiction;Michael Shaara, "Killer Angels", all of Peter Mayle's books ("A year in Provence"), "Islandia", Austin Tappan Wright, "The Last Lion", William Manchester, and all of either Eric Van Lustbader's earlier ninja mysteries or Martin Cruz Smith's books (Gorky Park) for just plain fun. Neville Shute isn't bad either. For edification/illumination John Bradshaw's books on the family.
I am looking for someone who is a great companion and lover. Someone who is not inhibited and loves to explore new things and places. Someone who understands that everyone has baggage, and that it is more important that you acknowledge it and deal with it than try to find someone that does not have any. I think a phrase that says a great deal for me is"chemistry is spontaneous combustion, but harmony is forever". The initial rush of meeting someone who you think you are really connecting with can obscure some real character defects. So I like to take my time and hope that the other person does too.
I like someone who is flexible who can go from jeans to formal in a blink. Someone who is well read but not an intellectual in a stuffy sort of way. I like a person who is physically active but not driven.
