Date someone special from Santa Cruz, United States. I like to have fun. Lucky for me, I find most situations fun and humorous. And most people. And I usually find the easiest target for my sense of humor is myself. I'm athletic - I love ultimate frisbee, beach volleyball, hiking and I'll run or swim on most opportunities - but I've done some uncoordinated things in my life and have the scars to prove it. I'm intelligent, friendly, and compassionate - yet have stuck my foot in my mouth more times than I'd like to recount.
I'm looking for someone who'll laugh with me most times, at me when I deserve it, and at himself when he deserves it. Someone who is confident, cultured. A guy who will try anything at least once - whether it's rational or not. Someone who can be spontaneous and still responsible. Someone who's independent, yet loyal. Someone who treasures good friends - I may blow you off for a friend in need, and would expect you to do the same.
Meet a soulmate from Santa Cruz, United States. You might find me on the tennis courts, running on the beach or redwood trails, holding a yoga pose or dancing to any variety of music. Then again, you may not find me at all if I'm too busy vegging on the couch with a good book or movie ;) My personality is usually fun, bubbly and easygoing and I'm always looking for any excuse to laugh. I also have a very quiet side when I feel shy, focused, or intrigued. My profession involves working with adolescents and it feels so rewarding when I feel I've made a connection and a positive difference in one of their lives. Right now I'm on summer vacation, wooohooo!! That also feels pretty rewarding!
I grew up in this area, went to college in San Diego and spent a few years living abroad (Spain, Argentina and Chile) during and after college. Those years abroad had a huge influence on my formation and transition into adulthood and still deeply affect my perspective on everything today. I also lived in NYC on various occasions, which was also very eye-opening and exciting. All of those experiences made my appreciation grow for how unique and special this area is. My favorite thing about this part of the world is how fantastic it feels to come back after having been gone for a while.
I love to go out at night and the perfect evening for me consists of Thai food and some sort of entertainment like a movie or live music. My favorite local band is Sambada, I still haven't figured out how to move my feet fast enough to truly dance samba, but it feels so fun to try. Out of all my daytime hobbies, I'd say my top two most frequent favorites are yoga and jogging. I've been going to my favorite local yoga studio for years. It feels like my own secret place because not many people know about it, so it doesn't get crowded like other yoga centers in this area; and it has a private garden, sun room and a really calm, serene atmosphere. I've taken friends there and they always say they prefer their own, more popular yoga places. I've tried those spots and enjoyed them, but always end up back where I feel most at my home. Jogging with friends on the soft trails of the Nisene Marx redwood forest is my other top favorite activity. I started running there as a kid, yet I still feel surprised each time by how beautiful it is and how fresh the air feels. I love the silly types of breathless conversations that always seems to pop up when I feel so energetic and alive from running.
About who I'd like to date: a fun, attractive, intelligent, interesting man I can connect with on many levels. My ideal relationship has clear and respectful communication and strong feelings of mutual admiration and trust. I don't want to jump into anything serious too quickly because I believe it takes time to really get to know another person's character. For the time being, I enjoy getting to know new people and am curious to see what happens...
P.S. I'm not looking for a fling, so if you are please pass me by.
