Date a soulmate from San Rafael, United States. I'm a creative professional originally from the East Coast. Working out at the gym is a big part of my life (though definitely NOT a muscle-head) and I'm looking for someone that includes that in her life as well. I love great food and wine so getting together and cooking with good friends is something I love to do. I've wandered through France and Italy and it was an incredible adventure. I can't wait to go back. The kind of person I'm interested in is educated, takes pride in how she looks, is as comfortable in heels as she is in sweats, has a great sense of humor and realizes that since life goes by quickly... the time is now.

Meet someone special from San Rafael, United States. Recently back into the dating scene, I love nature, music and travel. I like to keep busy and enjoy all that life has to offer. I would like to find someone to have fun with, go for a walk in nature, see a movie of just relax and be together. Who knows what the future might bring! I live a healthy lifestyle, enjoy fishing on the bay, hiking, building a cabin deep in the woods, preparing for winter and then sitting together by the fire on a snowy night. Occasional drinking is good; I love to cook and please my girl. I can handle just about any situation in the outdoors, and also enjoy civilized life, going to the city for dinner, seeing a show or playing tennis. II was born and raised here in the Bay Area, a 5th generation California kid. I studied English literature in college and love to read and also love learning other languages and experiencing other cultures. I have traveled in South America extensively and appreciate very much the culture and people there. I feel like this is a period of great change in the world and it is also happening for many of us on a personal level. It is an exciting time, as I know the future holds many wonderful things for us.
Date a man from San Rafael, United States. Hey! A great big world out there awaits with endless experiences, and I think they're best when shared.
While I'm fully functional on my own and self-sustaining, I spend enough time traveling about (maybe once a month or so for work) that I'd like to have that right girl to spend time with to make life all the more richer. Sometimes one plus one is more than two, you know?
It doesn't take much for me to be happy–– I can find something to be entertained by or interested in almost anywhere. Keep me outdoors and active and you'll really see me in my element. Once outside I'll likely be on a bike. Road or mountain, I'm handy with either and perfectly happy to make a weekend out of getting out of town to ride new places or old favorites. And I'll for sure be looking for a brewpub after. It would be really great if you thought that's the kind of weekend for you too. Great trail rides on a sunny Sierra summer day, chips n salsa (fresh only!) and beer waiting on ice in the truck...that's a pretty good afternoon right there.
I like rustic over refined. Sonoma over Napa. I like interesting-in-a-good-way architecture and I appreciate design, especially when efficient and innovative. I absolutely do not and will not own a pair of khakis. If I'm found at a shopping mall or a Costco on a sunny Saturday, check to see if I've sustained a head injury because that'd be the only reasonable explanation. I think Esperanza Spalding is both beautiful and a genius. But I'm just as likely to be listening to Sneaker Pimps or Beastie Boys. Or Art Blakey and the Messengers. Or music from Appalachia or even Kentucky. Or Tom Petty. Or even Prairie Home Companion, This American Life, and if I can find it, The Moth. Or Joe Frank, but he spooks me sometimes. I really need to read more and feel good when I do, and I respect and admire those who write with a pen. I thrive on information from NPR and NYT, and have huge respect for the talented folks who bear witness and bring forth the stories.
While I've been involved with what I do now for a long time, I've also done a few other things: Managed businesses; started an annual community event in San Rafael now in it's twelfth year and which has grown to the biggest downtown event; started and operated an award-winning custom wood shop in San Rafael (yes, I'm handy around the house.)
I also know how meaningful a simple act, light touch or secret look can be...have you, like me, found a whole new level of energy when getting such from a special someone? Well, the good news is I believe it's as good to give as receive.
Meet a woman from California, United States. Whether the experience was good or bad, we all have the stories. My story? I just turned 48 and am firmly grounded in Marin -- both my work and family are close by. I've lived in five states, traveled to three continents (four by the end of August), and enjoy tennis, golf, jazz, hiking and the desert. A love of conversation is a must; laughing over a funny story or discussing why John Roberts' ruling on Obama's healthcare plan was the most important supreme court decision since the court elected W is a great way to pass the time. I have a master's in Journalism and spend more time than I care to admit watching documentaries and reading the NY Times online. I also consider a day game at AT&T Park the closest thing to heaven and camping one of Dante's levels of hell. I'm more casual than formal, would rather meet for the first time on a hike rather than over a cup of coffee, and believe that actions speak louder than words. I am straightforward when it comes to relationships -- I can handle almost anything if you are honest about what you need or want. Chemistry is the key, relationships are never easy and the chemistry is what carries you through. As for a conversation starter, most men have some story in their childhood about playing with fire. What's yours?
Date a soulmate from California, United States. So it has come to this. Here we are on a social website, seeking a partner who we can trust and share our most personal thoughts with. Gee, when I graduated from high school or college, I never imagined meeting anyone this way! Here goes the short version of my dream match…
He is a kind, well-grounded man who knows who he is (as much as any of us do). Someone who truly likes women and isn’t afraid to be a “man” around them, yet respects them in every way. Beyond that, we would be compatible in simple ways while accepting our differences. I hope we have similar likes and goals without smothering each other. More than that, we will be good at communicating in every way…the good and bad, the great and not-so-great. In any healthy relationship, each partner helps the other be the best person he or she can be. That said, he can’t be gay, married, or hung up on his mother!! ?.
About me…I’m originally from Oregon. Lived most of my adult life in the Bay Area (and love it!). I’m in my second major career (o.k., maybe third) and financially stable. I am a generally positive person and look for the best in any situation. I would like to be with someone who has a similar nature. I’m physically active and a former runner, but had to slow that down to some “softer” activities in recent years. I love riding the ferry to see a Giant’s game or a walk on the embarcadero. I mostly enjoy healthy meals, but anything in moderation is okay with me. I’m pretty simple! Open my door. Bring me flowers FREQUENTLY. Be honest. Be kind and respectful. And always have fun! Enough for starters….let’s take a walk in the park and see what happens!
