Music has been a mainstay for my spiritual well being. Who doesnt like music? Fortunately I have been blessed (I have also developed these skills through hard work) with the gift of being able to write and play music at a fairly high level of competency. It brings me joy to do this. I look at music as a medicine with healing powers that I belive we all understand but do not utilize enough in our society. I teach music at a public high school full-time( I am not a struggling musician. I did that for many years)and I also perfom jazz music at a variety of places in the Bay Area for fun and sometimes profit. I have a sixteen year-old son who is also a musician. I feel blessed that he shares my passion for music and because of this, we have been able to have many wonderful times playing and listening to music.
Laughing is another one of life's medicine's that we all know is important. I like to make people laugh if at all possible and appreciate a humorous aside tossed my way as well. Just like jazz music, I'm into improvised comic banter. I am a big Marx Brothers fan. Remember Norman Cousins? He attributed his remission from cancer largely to the fact that he watched many comedy films as part of his treatment. The Marx brothers were one of his favorites. The movie Patch Adams is so great at pointing out the importance of laughter to our well being. I am fit and quite athletic. I love to run and do 3-4 miles, 3-4 times/week. I also have done quite a bit of cycling and am always up for a good ride.

I'm energetic, passionate, open-hearted, very athletic, rather intellectual, often witty, somewhat creative, a computer geek, into real estate, data, web design, teaching and politics. Like many others, a good, occasionally even wicked sense of humor is rather important to me, however like many others, I have an intriguing serious side as well. I’m sure you have these aspects as well.
Like so many others, I have travelled and lived outside the US, in the UK, Russia and in Australia where I was married for awhile. It would be a plus if you have managed to structure your professional life in a manner somewhat similar to mine, with multiple, simultaneous career areas that allow for financial stability and freedom along with a degree of control and flexibility over time. Besides Marin county real estate, I work in information technology, in education and in politics. Besides real estate, Democratic oriented politics is one of my vocations (also a business), as well as a passion and avocation. Quite athletic. I work out, swim bike ride or hike nearly every day for an hour or two. However, I can’t spend all weekend riding around in full bike colors and regalia like some of my friends. Prefer short but intense rides. Like so many others, I enjoy a healthy lifestyle with plenty of sunshine and fresh air. I grew up in Marin, and live there now, and I know every hiking trail in the county like a true native. Do you love taking your nieces and nephews swimming?
Travelling and living abroad: Though I once had the world’s greatest apartment in San Francisco, I like warm tropical places. Doesn’t just about everyone? Thailand and Indonesia were such happy times. Summer thunderstorms in warm places, and the warm phosphorescent waters of Bali (where everyone is named Wayan) under the Southern Cross.. East coasts of continents usually have warm currents, west coasts cooler, so I loved the Australian surf when I lived there, and the Atlantic coast near Hilton Head this summer. The warm summer rains and balmy evening breezes at the Shanghai world expo last summer were good for the soul. Towns in Reggio Calabria, Andalucia and Ondines in Sausalito are also neat
Living abroad became rather a major part of my identity. Spent a year working in Russia as a computer trainer and learned the language and many Russian ways. If you speak Russian we could talk Bulgakov or Pushkin together. Lived in London for a bit, also moved to Australia (as an emigrant, married to an Aussie) for awhile.
I’m a political progressive, in thought and (usually) in deed as well.
