I am a generally enthusiastic person and like being happy and keeping it all in perspective, VS dwelling on the negative.
Random things about me: I read voraciously, and quickly and re-read books I love. Like movies that surprise me (District 9, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Swingers), and the classics (Raging Bull, Star Wars, Goodfellas, It's A Wonderful Life, Guess Who's Coming To Dinner). Geek out to many kinds of music (Elvis Presley, Bowie, Sinatra, Buckley, Beatles, MJ, Crowded House, Beastie Boys, Portishead, old skool hiphop). Used to play the guitar and piano. Enjoy good TV (recently discovered Netflix and Apple TV). Am inordinately proud of my brother who is a successful comic book artist.
I find travelling eye opening, have visited various places in Asia and Europe and still have many places I would love to visit. Love animals - dogs, cats, rabbits, penguins - though better if they have bit of a personality (hence I struggle with fish though I do enjoy watching/diving with them :-) Running along Crissy Fields always makes me happy. I try to run a few half marathons a year.
I'd like to think everything happens for a reason, and yet the universe is really pretty random.
At the end of the day, am looking for someone whom I am excited about, and yes it would be fun to travel to far flung places and have lots of adventures together, but we would also feel really comfortable just sitting at home, feeling content and in sync with each other and be happy members of a mutual admiration society.

I don’t mean the exact same name; I mean my nicknames come with the same spirit. I was “Sparky” on a volleyball team and a “tower of power but a spritely thing” in an article about me. The essence of who I am is simultaneously serious and playful—and this is something that I also expect in relationship.
What do I mean by playful? I like to dance in the kitchen or wrestle now and then. I have no qualms about having a party to play sardines (with adults or five year olds)—if you’ve never played it, you should. Of course, I’m equally down for a lingering dinner and talking about what we hope for in the world. I fell in love with the city as well as the rest of the bay area.
