Reading is a passion of mine during my downtime, my favorite books are The Count of Monte Cristo and Cien Anos de Soledad. Also, this might make me sound like a nerd, but I love the whole Harry Potter Series of books! My taste in music is very broad, and I am willing to give any type of music a chance (even Country - haha).
The two main qualities I am looking for in a woman are honesty and loyalty. I think that those 2 qualities are essential for a stable and fulfilling relationship to progress. Also, having respect for each other is huge in my opinion!
I just turned 39 years old at the end of May, and because I look way younger, and I am also young at heart (or so I am told), people are always shocked! haha :) I am very responsible, but I do like to laugh a lot and have a fun. Date a soulmate from United States. Personal intergrity is extremely important to me. Say what you mean, mean what you say. Initially, I'd like to find a great friend. Eventually, I want a man who is going to be the man. I'm hoping for a relationship that is mutually beneficial, a true partnership. Ultimately, I want to be cherished...fulfill my needs and you will never have to worry about me not fulfulling yours. Initially, I try to take everyone at face value, until they show me different. Make me laugh and you will have my undying loyalty (if you're sexy enough). Humor is essential. In fact, sometimes I find humor in the most inappropriate circumstance, and sadly, I tend to laugh at my own jokes. I am a die-hard Laker fan who cannot respect bandwaggoners and player groupies--it's a TEAM sport! On the other hand, hate KB all you want; he didn't leave his team to chase a ring! If you know the difference between the WAC, PAC 12, MWC, and Big 10--we can probably talk all night long! I'm also a 49er fan, but love certain aspects of different NFL teams/individual players (Bush, Sanchez, Gerhardt, Tomlison, etc.)... And yet, I'm a total girly girl with a shoe addiction that I'm trying to cure -- I recently cancelled my membership to 3 seperate Shoe clubs (seriously); it was either that or rehab. I love getting and giving affection; doesn't have to be heavy PDA...I'll take subtle PDA too. I've never been the clubbing every night type of girl. While I enjoy an occassional night out at a nice roof top lounge with drinks/dancing, I also enjoy spending time at the beach, watching a game w/friends or family, or enjoying a good book on a quiet Sunday afternoon.
I have a 22 year old son who's in college on a football scholarship; alot of fun for this lifetime sports fanatic! Two other boys (15, 10)--I share custody with their dad who lives locally and is very hands-on. Even though we're divorced, we maintain that our boys are the one thing we did right...they're some pretty cool charaters...never a dull moment... Honestly, they want me to 'get a social life' so that they don't feel guilty about never being around. Since they're older, I'm allowed to live a pretty spontaneous lifestyle...I finally obtained my passport last year; kinda late I know. Jamaica was my first stop. Looking forward to Tahiti and Australia later this year. Can't walt!
I'd say the flaw that I'm most embarrased about is the amount of times I can justify saying the "F" word. I don't know if it's because it's a word that applies in almost any given context, or because I'm still rebelling against the ultra-conservative religion I was raised in. At any rate, I have managed to curb my formerly outrageous use of the word significantly.
I have a HUGE family. Seriously, it's big. I am the 13th of 14 children--my parents had 11 kids, stopped for 19 years, then had us last 3. My older siblings refer to us as 'the new kids' and think we were pretty spoiled. My parent's were pushing 45 years married when my Daddy (my hero) passed away unexpectedly. They provided their children with a wonderful, open, loving, and unfortunately a little too sheltered upbringing. My dad/mom referred to each other as "Sweetie" even during one of their rare disagreements throughout their entire marriage. While their roles were traditional, daddy worked, mommy stayed home; they encouraged us to be open to lifes many opportunities and adventures, and to never be afraid of taking risks. While I'm very close to my family, I do not require their permission or seek their approval for the choices I make. Good and bad, they have always supported the renegade (middle-child) in me.
