The transition quite has been quite easy and enjoyable, as I value living in an ethnically diverse neighborhood. And, I love the freedom of being silly playing with my 4 and 6 year old grandsons,
The one gap is the difficulty of making friends. I'd like to share the beauty of the Bay Area with interesting friends until something really clicks with one, and keep developing from there. I'm an active healthy fit straight guy, and the odds should be in my favor. But, I haven't found love at first click.
I have a lot of interests---intellectual, aestheic, physical. It's not necessary that a friend share them all.
Good humor, kindness, spontaneity, affection, dependability and a sense of curiosity are qualities I value and try to practice. I like loving words, a gentle touch and soft kisses .I've adopted CA's casual dress style after wearing a suit and tie for years. But I love good design in clothes and accessories for a woman--even like going shopping with women.
I find it fun to experiment with foods . Today, I bought from a some greens that I had never seen: raw, it that tasted like a kind of cress, but nobody around had tried it either. With it, I'll cook some pearl like grains from Lebanon that are new to me too. They are called "moghrabieh": I bought them from a near-by middle eastern shop. I'll check Google for a recipe. From my mother, I developed a practice of pickling ,making preserves, and taking care of my beautiful apartment.
I enjoy all kinds of music from jazz to classical. I'm exploring places for tango, westcoast swing, zydeco and latin dancing. I like colors and textures, natural materials, and prefer simpicity of compossition and construction.
I practice yoga and pilates regularly, like long walks, biking, the beach and mountains. I'm liberal politically and don't understand the Tea Party, except as a growing vocal group of irrational white racists. I like to travel: visited Japan in 2012, England, Budapest and Bosnia in 2011. I go to independent and foreign films, and am comfortable in off-beat places.
Hopefully, I've triggered somebody's curiosity to want to get to know one another, and the evolving magical chemistry.

I'm a Native San Franciscan and I almost totally differ in the political values of the current "Progressive" Dems now running this city, so in S.F. I'm probably a Conservative whereas in most of the country I'd be middle of the road.
I'm just a normal guy although I consider myself to be very intelligent, vigorous, and fun with a humorous side with a sometimes rapier wit.
Let me begin with clearly stating that I would like to meet an attractive, preferably a LOCAL, (San Francisco, Daly City, Colma) woman who would have absolutely no problem in having our initial dates here in San Francisco. Also, in the interest of saving time, I do NOT care for outdoor activities i.e. camping, kayaking, river rafting, sky diving, et al. I do, however, very much enjoy urban delights as fine dining, the performing arts, dancing and a host of other activities.
