I will be moving down there in either September or October. So, now I am looking for a fresh start in a new area. This would mean that there is always some measure of longing, some measure of ennui when two people find their 'split apart' -- (I think Plato had a thing going with his two halves of a whole theory)
And it is perhaps the toughest thing to ever find -- someone who shares your passion for life, liberty and the promise of happiness; someone who will indulge you even the silliest whims and forgive you your little indiscretions with punctuation, mad desires to spend the afternoon laid out on the grass, eating wild berries and poetry for breakfast; who will slay a dragon for you but leave you to your musings when the penchant to write and create hits.
And while I do believe that contentment is a close second, I truly concede that happiness does exist (and settling for contentment is for cowards who are too afraid to hazard an experience)and manifests itself even in the split second when you behold the newly sprung bud of spring, or find an eternity of joy in a belly laugh.
I have lived my life passionately and continue to seek fulfilling experiences so that I am never content with the subjugation of regret. I find exhilaration just sitting and staring at the wild, vast ocean but am also content to stay home on a weekend and clean my bathroom -- so that I am devoid of any lofty ideas and my feet and hands are securely planted on the silly tiles of my bathroom floor, even if at the end of the day, my fingertips long to touch other fingertips.
I am particularly goofy and will sometimes laugh at the absurdity of life and the sorriness of a plastic universe, but I have been known to speak in lectures on the universal architecture of words and linguistic phones.
I love Elizabeth Taylor in Butterfield 8 and Lucy Snow in Villette only because there seems to be in these characters an earnest desire for things that go beyond an existent reality.
