Things I dislike: Competitive sports (Football, Baseball, but I do enjoy an occasional Laker game), crowds, loud noise (including Hip-Hop), "elevator" music, shopping, the taste of alcohol (I really have never been able to enjoy a beer or glass of wine - - I just don't like the taste), religious extremsim, political conservatism, intolerance of individual differences and divergent viewpoints, and the whole idea of "dating". Although I love to dance, I am not fond of nightclubs although I have been known to "clear the floor" when I do go out.
What I am looking for:
I am clearly much happier being married and would like to try again. It seems to me that the best fit for me would probably be someone who is relaxed and comfortable with themselves and others, cultured, well-educated, and at least somewhat accomplished, who was looking to settle down and design a fun retired life while helping me raise my son. It would be wonderful if she were a classically-trained musician and/or could cook well, but I don't expect to find everything. I don't cook very well but am "egalitarian", great at laundry, and not afraid of hard work or doing my fair share around the house.
I have often thought that I might like to buy a high-end bed and breakfast somewhere beautiful and not too far from a major city. I'd like to run it myself for a few years, then train a manager to run it while my wife and I enjoy our home nearby. This would allow us to feel secure as we enjoyed traveling and other hobbies. But there are thousands of other good ideas out there for retirement and I am very flexible and adaptable, even if overly "driven" at times.
