Date someone special from Kensington, United States. I've lived in the Bay Area for 44 years and for the past 35 have made my living in the wine business. I'm Jewish by birth, but areligious, with a secular interest in Buddhism. I'm also intelligent and articulate, with the left-wing politics and irreverent, ironic sensibility of a long-time Berkeleyan. (Yes, I fondly remember Mario Savio and Eldridge Cleaver!) I value language and literature (Don DeLillo, T.C. Boyle, Paul Auster and Jorge Luis Borges are among my favorite writers), history, the arts (especially music, film and theater), the beauty and serenity of nature, travel to cultures radically unlike our own, good ethnic food, and fine wine. I'm of medium height and build, quite fit, and youthful and good-looking for my age. I can appear reserved to strangers, but at heart am playful, tender, passionate and compassionate. I'm independent and can contentedly pass my time working, reading, listening to music, and hiking in the East Bay hills, but would love to share my life with a wise, graceful, lovely woman who values peacefulness, tenderness, and laughter. I'm seeking a smart, tender, compassionate, slim, pretty woman, 48-63, who is intellectually curious, values language, literature, and the arts, has varied interests, possesses and appreciates a good sense of humor, loves to travel and explore other cultures, enjoys outdoor activities, cherishes the serenity of nature, and is ready to share the rest of her life in a loving relationship with a kindred spirit.
Meet single man from Kensington, United States. I am a grounded, spiritually influenced, irreverently humorous, kind, quietly industrious, left-of-liberal, successful, independent, athletic individual - with a NYC edge. I am content with my life and find I can be happy with no reason. I currently enjoy a low stress, contemplative lifestyle with time to smell the roses. Among other things, I value integrity, purpose, joy and acts of kindness. I enjoy good conversation, lively repartee, and silence. I have an adventurous streak that comes with a rudder. I look to maintain a sense of balance: between spirit and psyche, activity and contemplation, social/political consciousness and enjoying the wonders at my doorstep. Activism is important to me - it's not enough just to complain. The most satisfying, and probably important, experience of my life has been fatherhood.
I’ve always enjoyed things physical (tennis, working out, bicycle riding, dancing, white water rafting and hiking are currently on my list), travel, cultural events, fine dining, and spending time at home. I have a good deal of control over my time and am able to take small trips spontaneously and large ones with notice. I continue to enjoy my careers - one of which has always been meaningful, the other of which has felt like playing monopoly with real chips. Recent activities include joining a Sangha group and doing some writing. I have a cat who understands me.
I’d like to meet someone who is solid in her own life, sensuous, comfortable with attachment/independence, has some accomplishments worth bragging about, knows herself well, and who would be interested in a counter-cultural, moderately iconoclastic guy.
I’m looking for a relationship that is fun, connected on psycho-spiritual-physical planes, has shared values, compatibility, friendship, is open to new experiences, has chemistry, affection for who we both are and is mutually respectful.
There are no misrepresentations in my Profile and my photos are recent (with one exception they're all from the past year). If these two things are true of your Profile, and you have an interest in contacting me, I’d be glad to hear from you.
