I suppose this is now where I’m supposed to wittily impress you with how romantic and unique I am. Well, I enjoy tropical beaches and Hallmark moments too, and you will learn I’m rather atypical. Yet 59 is such a strange # to me to be but with daughters in their 30’s and also the oldest person in my family it must be true.
I'm looking to share dinner, conversation and a glass of wine each night - a street fair, play or movie on the weekend. Someone who would enjoy snorkeling in Maui, theater in London (and NYC) and possibly hiking the Grand Canyon ... to create a loving life and memories with for the 2nd half of life, mixed with some spice and a stable core.
For true “romance” I’ve learned that there is nothing more so than honesty, inherent trust and communication. So: I've never smoked or used drugs (I know - hard to believe for a Boomer - you can thank my grandmother); not an alcoholic, don’t gamble or ride motorcycles. Also I have no past relationship issues I want to bore you telling you about (glad to answer any and all questions about the past). I'm Interested in just 1 long term relationship - I'm the most non-"Player" guy you will ever meet (who has the time to be that?).
I'm a financial planner and book author by career, but I gave up planning every minute years ago - no fun! Daughters say can set watch by me but don't wear one. I’m not a workaholic, but I am very busy. I enjoy helping people with their financial puzzles, so I’ll probably never retire 100% (besides, you live longer if you don’t ~ ). Speaking of which I’ve gotten a clean bill of health (12-11: just approved 'Super Preferred') and take nothing for anything, and expect to live into my 90’s as did my grandfather and his dad.
Not religious (raised Christian) but I enjoy Xmas as much as anyone. You can be - but prefer you don't need to spend all of your Sundays at church. Hope that doesn't give a wrong picture of my “spirituality”. My neighbors are 90 and 98 and say “God planted you next door”, and that is good enough for me. You may find my moral compass more �honest’ and heart more open than many who wear “church” on their sleeve. As for 'political views' which seems to be really important I've learned on this site, I trend liberal on social issues and moderate/conservative on financial ones. If you are not superconservative on things then at the least it can be interesting!
The pictures are all in the past year or so and the hair is real (May 2012 a comment made to me was "you are thinner and look youger than your pictures - how is that possible!). You: educated, attractive, symmetrical, pets ok but not your "life"; prefer that kids are grown and gone. Also, I want you to maintain your life with friends and family. What I want is to look forward to spending most evenings and weekends with you - and learning about you - and in the doing build a life together.
On a lighter note I think, never drank coffee (you can decide if that’s good or bad), but feel free to partake. Keep a clean and neat house (desk may disagree). I play pickleball a couple times weekly so 'bonus points' if you like to play racquet games! I’m far from perfect, but the “bad” stuff you need to find out on your own!

I play and compose music, with lots of free improv that hopefully goes somewhere. I also learned how to do psychic readings at the Berkeley Psychic Institute back in the 80's. Its really no big deal, just a good way to go just a little bit deeper, and it seems to go well with the music.
I used to work as a computer programmer, now somewhat retired and living in North San Diego County. Spirituality is very important to me, but for some reason it seems like rock n roll and politics is more often a better predictor of compatability. The music always brings it home, whether its the Allmans, Coltrane, blues, or beyond, as long as its got something to say and it's from the heart.
I like to listen to Coast to Coast and also Pacifica radio. It helps keep my edge sharp.
I do keep my living space scent-free as I am sensitive to fragrances etc. I'm also very health conscious these days, and I'm now finishing up a course in clinical nutrition. Not sure what I'll do with that just yet.
I was lucky to have had two really good relationships. They were easy, as they should be. It’s about the relationship, and not the individual (even when it is about the individual). A little kindness always helps, too.
