I lead what I consider to be a reasonably active lifestyle. I usually work out about three times a week, either at the gym or on my bicycle. I compete in Scottish Highland games about three times a year, although I don't practice for these as much as I used to. I read a lot in my time off, in fact that is my primary source of relaxation and entertainment. I have performed in theatre and occasionally gotten paid for it. I do not avoid meat, chocolate, dairy, sugar, alcohol or much of anything in moderation. I have traveled quite a bit in the past and I would certainly like to do more of it.

I am a true-blue dog lover. I am attentive, affectionate and I will always be there when times are tough. I walk dogs, trim their nails, and even bathe them. On the other hand, I do have limits. I'm not crazy about tiny dogs and especially lap dogs. I like dogs to be dogs, not humans. And poodles are off-the-table. I am a veteran Civil War reenactor - Federal only, no Confederate, and I don't cross dress. Don't know what this activity will be like in California. Out East was no problem. I enjoy camp life more than the 'battles' - think of it as camping with a theme. Weekend encampments are truly relaxing - no phones, radio, TVs, etc. Cooking over a fire can be a challenge though. But there's nothing like breaking those peanut shells during a discussion around the campfire while someone in the distance performs Tenting On the Old Campground. And your dog would be welcomed on the 'field'.
Enjoy discussing current events, especially politics. Have strong ethics so my opinion of politicians is fairly low (I'm sure your dog would a lot at them). I like my spaghetti sauce w some kick; guacamole and low-temp smoked pork are God's food. Don't have any tattoos or drive a Beemer but I do have screws in my face (save that subject for when your dog is eating). I'm good with my hands (your dog will find out very quickly what that means).
