I helped raise a learning disabled nephew, as well, who has become a wonderful, caring and high functioning adult, of whom I am so very proud of.
I enjoy a vegetarian diet and a healthy lifestyle. I have a passion for being by the ocean. I am an absolute dog lover and dog sit as a part-time business, when ever I can. I do love all animals, as well.

I am very grateful for the people in my life, especially my children and my friend of forty-five years. I was fourteen
when I met her. I had gone on my first date and was humiliated because the boy's sweater caught on my
braces and we had a hard time untangling me. My friend was so kind and consoling when I
told her what happened on the date that we became friends for life. Empathy is a gift. Looking back it was very funny. Without humor where would we be?
From my pictures it looks like I spend my entire life with my family. This is definitely not the case. It seems that the only time pictures are taken are when we are together.
There is a wonderful study on pro-social behavior that was just completed. The study focuses on how willing we are to help strangers in need. Last year a two year old girl was run over by a car in China and no one came to her aid. When bystanders were asked why they didn't try to help the girl they answered that they were afraid of litigation. Out of the sixty countries studied, China was the second to the bottom on the list, Greece came in last. I am so pleased that the U.S. was the second highest, Ireland being first. It is the kind of positive news that we rarely hear.
I just found out that California is the eight largest economy in the world, I had no idea. I am really shocked, but I think it's great. We definitely have other problems to solve.
