Date men and women from Hillcrest, United States. Everything I do has the goal of maximizing my enjoyment of life. I work to live and not the other way around. I chose the type of job I have based on my desire to fully enjoy my time away from work. I work as much or as little as I want. Why? Well, because I want flexibly. I want to be able to take time off and travel at a whim. I want to visit friends on the East Coast often. I want to see my family in Canada. I want to spend months (maybe years) living in South America. Or not. But, I always want the option to do whatever, whenever I want. Life is an experiment in having fun, and this concept is so important to me that it is what I will teach my kids someday.
All I need now is a partner
Meet men and women from Hillcrest, United States. I'm from Long Island originally, and moved to San Diego in 2006. I have lots of great friends here, but I also miss the pace of the east coast, and could see myself moving back there one day.
I like to eat real food, plus chocolate of course, and to be physically active pretty much every day. We can't live forever, but I'd like to stick around as long as possible, and to enjoy it in the meantime.
My life has also been something of an adventure, as I've lived in several different cities, making new connections and often forging a new career in each one. My high school and college friends never influenced me to return somewhere, as after graduation they scattered to the four corners of the globe. I wouldn't trade my experiences for anything, as they've made me who I am, but I would like to put down roots (or at least bring them with me) at some point in the future.
Date men and women from Hillcrest, United States. Instead of giving you a self-indulgent narrative, I refer you to the following reviews:
"He is a fantastic conversationalist, amusing, smart, attractive, and sexy as hell. Oh girl, the back rubs were incredible -- the man's got magic fingers. Anyway, I wish it had worked out between us, but we ended up on opposite ends of the country. My loss."
-Former girlfriend
"I'm biased because I'm his mother, but objectively my son is an excellent catch. He's responsible and calls at least once a week and is a good boy. And my son is a professor for God's sake. A PROFESSOR. I tried to set him up with the daughters of all my friends, but instead he gets on some internet dating site -- as if some machine can match my son up with the perfect girl better than his own mother. Ridiculous."
-Mother
"Hard working, determined, team player -- good guy to have around. I don't think he ever stole office supplies."
-Former Boss
"Yes he sometimes works long hours. Yes he is a news junky -- it seems like he is always listening to NPR's All Things Considered or Science Friday. Yes he is a little eccentric. But he is hell-a fun. He took me to museums, trips, hikes, concerts, and to weird dive bars. He's also fit and looks young for his age. He jogs, plays volleyball, goes to yoga. And he love nature -- mountains, ocean, gardens, animals of all kinds, bacteria growing in petri dishes. He tries to dance but never had time for lessons, so it's kind of pathetic. Highly recommended."
-Another former girlfriend
"Great guy, but always f's up the subjunctive and por/para. He really needs to date a hot latina who can help him with his Spanish."
-Professora de espanol
So there you have it... If you are a good conversationalist, honest, socially/politically aware of the larger world, open-minded, comfortable in your own skin, and have a good sense of humor (with an appreciation for the absurd), send me a note. If not, good luck in your search!
Meet single man from California, United States. So, who am I?
First and foremost I am not a rational per se. Some kind of a 21st century renaissance type of guy. Yes, one can say sentimental or driven by his sentiments (you pick).
Some traits? Nonchalant, sophisticated with a zest of cool, well-traveled, humorous (extra dry), open-minded, affectionate, accommodating, suave, plural, perceptive, sagacious and passionate when love shows up at the corner.
Should you be able to judge a book by its cover, please try read through my smile.
Photography, contemporary design, architecture, man-made achievements in all shapes or forms... those are the things that reconcile me with the human gender. My eyes play an important role in my existence. To the point that they often dictate my choices.
My sons too are uplifting and essential.
Professionally speaking, I work for a high-end furniture showroom and I Iove what I do. I also import artworks from Europe that I promote to art galleries. As I often say : "I sell things people don't need".
I am fortunate enough to have travelled in many places and I think I am not done. It is my hope to imprint my senses with the ambrosial flavors of countries such as Argentina or Cuba. For now, I am drawn into the linear charm and merry colors of Palm Springs. It reminds me of a mid-century era that has left without telling me.
I reside in San Diego for 12 years now but I am not your typical California “next door neighbor” (though I have two cars and two TV's). One of the reasons being that I was born and educated in this country famous for his daunting number of excellent cheeses and unfriendly waiters. I am everything SoCal is not, yet I call it home.
My musical portfolio is vast and eclectic, from Classical to Salsa, Lounge, Jazz and Dance (the last two styles being my current favorites). Lately started to take piano lessons (humbling).
Sundance, IFC, PBS, Discovery, Bravo, Travel, and CNN form the core of my TV evenings. Nothing new under the sun. When in your company, they may end up in a foot massage session.
Without any transition...You will see me on my way to a business meeting dressed in a suit and kneeling down in the middle of the street to pet a lost cat. On the other side of the spectrum, I despite spiders and imbeciles.
To summarize... You can call me a dilettante, just passing through the organized chaos of this life. That helps me to cope with its irony and to remain cordial, if not happy.
On a more relational and personal note, I am currently looking for someone I can connect with on a deeper level. A real partner with whom I would like to feel Love again. A descriptive list of qualities I would hope from you does not have to take place here. I would rather read those with my heart, in person.
I am better at giving than taking those days. That is to say plenty of affection mutated into passion for the right or left companion.
Some one with substance... and nice legs, please.
Date men and women from California, United States. I'm a free speech warrior and free range parent. I like to think I'm good at cutting through the noise. I love my son with my life, though once I was tempted to nominate him to succeed Kim Jong-il. Recently someone told me, "For a lawyer, you don't really dominate the conversation." I think it was a compliment.
I clean up nice when needed. If I'm not working or chasing my son, I'm doing the usual. I read when I can. I listen to eclectic music. I love good food but I don't obsess over it. I ditched my TV a few years ago and don't miss it. I like mountain biking and skiing but I don't fetishize exercise, or anything else for that matter. Despite the hype, I recently took up yoga. I'm still a raw beginner, but it's rapidly becoming indispensable to my sanity.
I'm not looking for perfection, physical or otherwise. I certainly can't deliver it. I believe in a few things: humor, because it keeps me going; honesty, because I can't live without it; respect, because we all deserve it; and compassion, because we're all in this together. If you can run with that, I'd love to hear from you.
Meet people from California, United States. I am a native-born San Diegan and couldn't imagine living anywhere else. A good sense of humor would be a huge plus. If you like to have a good time and you're looking to spend some quality moments with a fun guy, give me a buzz.
Date men and women from California, United States. I am honest, supportive, playful, creative, have a good sense of humor, am spiritual but grounded, affectionate, passionate about life and understand that we get as much as we put into it. I enjoy music, attending concerts, studying financial investments, traveling close and far (great beaches and clear water for diving), or watching a good movie, BBQing on the grill with some wine. I enjoy biking, water sports, especially sailing and kayaking. I am willing to try whatever you enjoy too. I think I have a big heart, and give 100% in a relationship . Please write to me and tell me about you.
Meet a soulmate from California, United States. Hello !
I am 6 foot 1, 290 ninety (Give or take, I don’t weigh myself, afraid, LOL!), built like a football lineman, chubby, and kind of good looking, sporting a goofy smile :^().
I look young for my age; so I'm told, most people are surprised at 51.
Whatever LOL! I also act, dress and carry myself as a younger man, because I feel younger and it’s a common trait for men and women who have chosen my career path.
I am kind of smart, (Have had several careers in my lifetime, U.S Marine, sales, software development, programmer analyst and now Federal Gov.), an awesome cook, tech nerd and a real funny cat most of the time.
I am looking for three types of women or a combo of the 3: really smart with great wit and charm; a really relaxed cuddle bunny who is young at heart and is into tech; a girl/woman from around the way, you are sassy, hip, fun yet a responsible adult. All of these types must also be sweet, loving, honest and caring and love to laugh.
My taste in music, film, art… is eclectic I believe that there are a few gems in all genres and periods.
I love music, so my taste is wide and varied/eclectic.
I also like to play video games; even though I do not send nearly as much time playing as I did when I was younger, I will always play them…
Looks do not impress me as much as the attributes I mentioned above, but I probably won’t be interested in slobs or women who don’t take care of themselves! Of course, being cute, would be the icing on a cake…
And, of course I have not had a girlfriend or really dated in the last year and a half, so I'm ready!
With that little bit being said, good luck to of you your searches!
Peace Out :^)
Date a man from Hillcrest, United States. Hi! Who am I? Well, my friends say I'm positive, spontaneous, responsible, confident, easy-going, self-deprecating and comfortable in my own skin. People say I am a good listener. I love to find out what makes people tick. I believe in the golden rule, am close to my family, loyal to my friends. A gentleman. As you can see in my pics, I like to smile and laugh. I'd love to make you laugh, too.
Most of my friends are younger than I am, and they say I look and act much younger than my age. (Aren't friends great?) I'm good to go for either a formal dinner or hole-in-the-wall ethnic restaurant. Or to listen to live music and dance. But I also like getting up early and enjoying the outdoors with a hike or bike ride or kayak or... whatever. I am adventurous and open to new experiences. I love to explore both locally and globally -I have traveled to 37 countries and most of the states. Though I have had many incredible experiences, I cherish the simpler things in life. I also love to work out because I believe in staying in good shape. I'm naturally curious, so it takes me to interesting places.
Meet single man from United States. I moved to San Diego 4 years ago. I live in an apartment in North PB, and work at home developing software for a financial company back east. I have one daughter who just graduated from college. I am humorous, upbeat and nice. I take a lot of pleasure in the simple joys of life like food, conversaton, travel, museums, movies, art galleries, etc.,. For exercise I like to work out, ski, and hike. I would like to try sailing and horseback riding, neither of which I have done for a long time.
I really love Sothern California, especially the landscape. I feel fortunate to have the coast, footlhills, mountains and desert all in such easy reach for hiking in. I dreamed about moving to California for years, and it was really great when all the stars aligned to make that possible 4 years ago.
I am looking for someone who is smart and fun to be with. Someone who is not too materialistic, has positive feelings towards men in general, and is capable of giving and recieving love in a whole-hearted, consistent way. Someone who, like me, is ready for love and happiness and willing to compromise and work hard to keep it.
I am not fixated on any particular physical characteristics. I'm not looking for perfection. For me, sexiness has a lot to do with attitude. But it is important to me to find someone who is alive mentally. I'm not necessarily talking about formal education. Just a general mindset of being interested in things, even things that don't have an immediate practical value.
Date men and women from Hillcrest, United States. Hmm, what to say...Maybe some alliteration: Fun, Friends, Family, France, Film, Food. Other interests? Well sure, I have plenty. Just ask! Life is to be enjoyed, and I try to enjoy it to the fullest. I'm always looking for fun and adventures. Meeting new people and experiencing new places are amazing. After living abroad for a year I enjoy exploring San Diego like it's a new city to me. I've been here for almost 7 years and am constantly learning new things about the city, so I can't wait to see what I've missed. I'm a calm but very social girl, so I'm equally happy going out for drinks and dancing with friends, or staying in and cooking dinner. My friends say I have a great smile and infectious laugh, which I won't deny because I laugh as much as possible. I surround myself with people who are open-minded, like to have a good time, try new things, don't take life too seriously and, most importantly, can laugh at themselves and (occasionally) me.
Meet someone special from United States. I'm looking for a Sunday kind of love. You know, the kind that endures because it's based on friendship.
I'm goofy, driven, reliable and honest. Humor is ginormously important in a relationship. I am always up for an adventure - even if I have no clue how to do something you're into, I'll give it a shot. I like to test the limits of my comfort zone whenever possible.
Good stuff:
I don't sweat the small stuff, it takes a lot to make me angry. I am comfortable in my own skin, so hand me heels, hiking boots, or a bikini and I'm equally happy in each. Well, maybe happier in the hiking boots. I love going dancing, especially at bars where strangers don't mind getting silly with each other. I don't go out for the binge drinking or readily available sex, just for the excuse to dress up and cut loose. I am easily amused, and easygoing. I am genuine, a sucker for the underdog, and very loyal. I'll stick up for you, and I'll be there when you're down. I can usually get ready really fast.
Bad stuff:
I'm not here for hook-ups. My wonderful friends will give you a hard time. At some point, I'll probably try to draw your portrait and I make no guarantees it'll be good. I used to bake a lot with my mom, and still do it for fun, but I can't eat it all and someone has to - fair warning. Fact: I will try to tickle you. I love old musicals, many of which you will probably have to watch with me. I am very self-sufficient, so you won't always feel needed, but hopefully you'll feel wanted. ...Well, actually, I'm pretty mechanically inept. :)
If you are kind, clever, and know how to make your own happiness, I'd love to hear from you.
Six things I couldn't do without:
1. Closest friends (They keep me sane)
2. Th'arts and other pretty things (muzak)
3. Exploring (Try new stuff)
4. Learning (Gots to be legit)
5. Optimism (That's right, I'm better than you)
6. Stupid jokes (The kind that belie the parenthetical on #5)
