It's hard to believe how fast life seems to be racing by now and it's caused me to
rethink how I would like my 'last act' to be.....
Life's thrown some interesting curves my way but they've made me the person
I am so I'm not complaining--hopefully I've learned from all those lessons! I
am amazed that chronologically I'm the age I am, because luckily on most days
I don't feel even close to it! Health has been good to me and I pray that it
continues to be..... This year when I reached a 'milestone' year I decided to
celebrate it (after I stopped whining about it!), by walking a mile for every
year in the Komen Breast Cancer 60 mile walk--hadn't done it for almost
9 yrs. and have decided to do it yearly as long as I can~ With that said, I'd
love to meet someone who will enjoy walking with me and discussing daily
and life events several times a week......
I am told I have a great sense of humor and laughing is so important to me,
hopefully never at the expense of anyone else's feelings--most of the time laughing
at myself is my target of choice! I am a devoted animal lover--cats and dogs,
but now share the house with only two cats--so hopefully you'll also have a
love for the 4 legged 'kids' of the world as well.....
I've relocated here from the bay area 8 yrs. ago this month and still am looking
to discover new places to see....I've found some great wineries in the foothills
that I think make wines that equal or surpass the ones in Napa---care to go to
one and then come back and make a great meal to compliment it???
I have some fabulous friends and 'adopted' kids that mean the world to me--
I've decided that meeting 'the man of my dreams' might be too lofty a goal for
a site like this---not that I'm not hoping like crazy that WILL happen----but now think
that if we were to meet and just become friends, that wouldn't be a bad outcome
either as we continue this journey.... As Van Morrison says in one of my favorite
songs "the best is yet to come......" --- that's sure what I'm hoping for!

While often quiet in groups, observing and listening, one on one I'm engaged and communicative. But also comfortable with solitude, enjoy companionable silence as much as energetic conversation. Love to listen, can respect another's point of view while knowing my own, enjoy sharing ideas but avoid debating them. We're on the same team, even when we disagree, and I'm good at co-operative problem solving, finding common ground.
I'm intelligent but not intellectual, appreciate originality and equal parts logic and intuition, common sense and imagination. Usually delighted to learn something new. Avoid pretentiousness and closed minds. I want to give back, contribute to the world/people around me but know I have to take care of myself first.
While I can do black tie, my preference is usually down to earth activities, small ethnic restaurants, daytime and outdoor outings and relaxed nights at home. (At the same time, if you introduce me to new experiences, that's great...and preferences can always change.) I have a strong aesthetic sense, appreciate art, craftmanship, and beautiful surroundings but am not particularly acquisitive.
I enjoy exploring anything and everything from ideas to foreign lands, both big cities and the countryside. Love back roads and ruins, nature and history, anything that brings me closer - and more deeply - in touch with life.
