I've raised my daughter who is a senior in college and making her own way (for the most part). I am a second grade teacher in an inner-city school in Richmond. Everyday is an adventure, but, I do love my job. I have been blessed with wonderful, long time friends and colleagues. I have to admit I have some mixed feelings about social media and internet dating - must be my conservative East Coast upbringing that is always fighting with my more adventurous creative side. I am actually pretty easy going and easy to get along with but at the same time I can be pretty strong and independent. Having grown up in a large family I think I have learned the skills of compromise and diplomacy. I guess the diplomacy might also come from my years in the corporate world. I spent the greater part of my career in financial sales, traveling extensively both domestically and internationally, calling on large multi-national corporations. It was exciting and educational and also gave me the opportunity to see the world. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting foreign countries in Asia, Europe, South America, and Africa and getting to know the local people and their cultures. And when the opportunity afforded itself I took some extra time to vacation on beautiful beaches and visit museums and historical places.
After leaving the corporate world I had a stint at entrepreneurship developing and managing a family Beach Resort with my brother in Florida. The development side of the project helped me get more in touch with my creative side and design. As a result, I have recently completed an AA degree in Interior Design. I also have a BS and Masters degree (Psychology) and have taken other post graduate MBA courses. It is always a mystery to me why I continue to take classes when I think I am a gypsy at heart and think I could be very happy shipwrecked on a deserted island. Through both my corporate travels and vacations I have collected various art pieces for both the aesthetics and the memories. My collection is by no means expensive or extensive but brings a smile to my face when the memories flood in.
My future goals are to possibly design/build a small intimate design business, possibly internet related. In addition to my interest in Interior Design /Architecture, I love fashion and dabble in jewelry design. I am pretty mellow and donРІР‚в„ўt have the drive I had when I was younger, but also realize that I need to do something to keep my mind active.

I enjoy spectator sports, particularly football, and am a lifelong Steelers fan as well as 49ers. I enjoy working out to both stay fit physically as well as mentally. I love the outdoors, hiking/ walking, beaches and water sports - swimming, sailing, scuba diving, snorkeling and water skiing – not much of a snow skier, tennis player or golfer (although I tried all) but would be willing to learn if it was important to my partner. I also love to cook and entertain with good friends.
