I can look proudly at my family and say that I have done well. Could always do better, But now I am seeking to recapture some of my youth. I moved to Big Bear Lake at 23 and was roofer up there until I fell at age 29.Moved up with 1st wife who after 3 yrs. left, I met 2 gals from Cocoa Florida, One of which became pregnant within 3 mos. We had Ashley, and when She was 1 I fell of roof and got hurt pretty bad. Moved to Oceanside and went into roofing material supplies. Worked up to manager, left with 2 fellow employees and opened a San Diego store for America's largest supplier, ABC Supply. Within 2.5 yrs. became #1 store in America out of 262!! We were very busy but had a ton of fun with our roofing contractors.Opened up 2nd store in El Cajon, Then 3rd in National City. I, after 3 yrs of mngmt. in 1st store San Marcos went into outside sales for the El Cajon Store. Very difficulta t 1st, not knowing East and South County Contractors, But in not much time became well known and quite successful! Divorced in 86, met fiance in Clairemont where I settled, And we raised our 4 kids essentially together [Brady Bunch for years. Seperated, and vowed to get back together once kids were grown. Did not happen. I am and have been single since '2000, but am now, at age 54, and no grandkids on the horizon,r eady to meet someone close to my age with a family. I am happily sober, 22mos. now, and enjoy Biking Mission Bay, La Jolla Shores surf,etc. My pops still lives in Big Bear after about 30 yrs. and we talk alot! I enjoy wit, humor, and health. If you're a woman who is visually oriented and or care about photos, I'd like to point out that all of mine were taken in this century. No, wait, they were all taken in the last 12 months, and I like to add new ones and remove old ones when possible. As a professional photographer, I'm usually on the other side of the lens, but every now and then someone else has control of the camera.
Besides photography and writing, which I do for a local newspaper (mostly), I love to create things in the kitchen, feed one or a dozen other people, get out in the fresh air (but then again who doesn't?), and get some kind of vigorous activity every day (OK, that makes me sound like Jack LaLanne).
If I were to try to describe my personality, I would say energetic yet calm- few things rattle me. Funny/witty, with a serious side.
I'm not just a really funny, intelligent handsome guy, though. (at least one of those things is true). I also care deeply about the environment, animal welfare, healthy living, and staying in balance. In some ways I'm a bit of a stereotype- a vegan that drives a Prius- but I wouldn't have it any other way. I care about my carbon footprint, and am conscious about my effect on the environment and other creatures.
I don't want to pigeon-hole the type of person I am looking for. I'm not sure there is a template anyway. I think she could be described as extremely intelligent, quick-witted, humble, kind, considerate and athletic/fit, in her own way. People think she's beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. She doesn't have to be a vegan like me, but eating low on the food chain should be a priority for her.
Laslty, I'd say that if you don't have at least a couple photos, we probably won't end up meeting (unless you're hiring someone to do profile photos for match- haha). Like most men, I'm a visual creature. Physical attraction does matter, though we may not look like we did in our 20s. As an "eye-person", I am really drawn to a woman by her eyes. Or at least I will be if I can see them. If your profile photos show you wearing sunglasses in every image, you are hiding what could be your best feature.
