Meet single man from United States. Tall, dark, and handsome....I'm at least one of those....! When I hit fifty, I yelled "Jesus,stop the bus....I want to get off!" Please let me do my 40's over again. I have had such a 100 mph life, working for the government and traveling to most countries of the world and almost every state in our beautiful country.
I no longer run marathons, triathlons, or lift weights. I don't go backpacking, rock climbing or camping (unless its in a 35' motorhome with a king size bed, stand-up shower, radar dish and full kitchen!) I no longer snow ski, race motorcycles, fly helicopters or jump out of airplanes (been there and done all that, threw out the t-shirts during a sandstorm somewhere in the Middle East). I have a very different skillset.
Actually, I have entered my fifties with grace, dignity and acceptance. My life has balance. I've become much more mellow, easy going; stopping to smell the lilacs, gardenias, and roses. I totally enjoy the rain, I love the ocean, I also collect and enjoy art. I love live music. I love to travel. ROAD TRIP.....count me in. I have visited every state except Alaska. Want to take off for a week or two in Kona? How about Italy, where I lived and worked for 3 years.
I guess most women have been sequestered and raising babies in their homes during their 20's, 30's and 40's; now they find themselves as "empty nesters"....kids in college and husbands leaving for "greener pastures." Guys who never really grew up and appreciated the woman by their side! They treated these women like crap......and the women either stay with these idiots, or they leave them and sure enough, they find another jerk to replace them! Well, I happen to desire these women in their 40's...tall, slender, beautiful, poised; relishing their newly found self respect! Ladies, don't settle! I'm not the only man that feels this way......
I didn't join this site until this past summer when I went to Monterey and sat on my favorite bench overlooking Asilomar Beach, watching the sun set over the ocean, and felt terribly alone.....lonely that I didn't have someone with whom to share this awesome moment.
The only caveats/unacceptable behavior with me are drama, anger, and constantly depressed souls who want to drag everyone into their pathetic life and are not happy until you join them in their misery. Hey, I came from a somewhat poor background, but had that totally functional family like Beaver Cleaver. My parents have been married almost 60 years, still hold hands, and are not afraid of public displays of affection (I make them walk 10 steps behind me).....
