Date someone special from California, United States. Retired, worked for the state after 20 years as a psych tech, and now work a few days a week as a retired annuitant. Also a realtor with the flexability I choose to posses. Maybe that is called semi retired lol! Working less these days to do some of things I enjoy doing. Yes, as it's been said, life can be too short. I am an independent man that is easy going, patient, family oriented christian that value's family very much. Can be spontaneous, enjoys life, and all the wonders of God's creations, can be content with the simple things in life, strives to look at things in a positive way, believes in treating people as you want to be treated, nonjudgemental, compassionate, & forgiving. Bless to be physically, mentally healthy. Enjoy working out to stay fit, enjoy a variety of foods, however tend to lean more on the healthy side. I pretty much enjoy all types of music, long list, (rock, country, oldies, classical, jazz, christian, etc.) I like playing the guitar, singing, and karaoke. My outdoor interest are many. Tennis, basketball, bike riding, camping/hiking, skying, river, beach, sight seeing, travel, concerts, barque's, and open to most kinds of activities. Can also be content at home with my special someone, doing what ever.
Simplicity comes to mind; Easy going, down to earth intelligent women that has a calmness about her that is soothing to the soul, Spiritually in tune, assertive, values family, morally sound, a loving caring women, with a sense of humor, and yes, as it's been said, and what we all want in a relationship, or marriage; are those wonderful words among many, that sends music to our ears; Trust, Respect, Honesty, compassion, and all the wonderful things that make a relationship great. Can be as simple as holding hands, a hug or a kiss in a public place, so very nice don't you think?
I'm not with the notion that we all have to do or like the same things; We all differ, and are set in many ways. Our interest are with variety, the likes and dislikes, and that's what makes us unique, special, and interesting, however nice to like some of the same things don't you think?
Whether were out and about, or at home doing what ever, would be just as nice with that special someone.
True, we're up in our years, has slowed us down some, but that's ok! Let's live, and be youthful, and vibrant as we can be, isn't life wonderful. It's often been said that life is too short, and true in a sense. Meet men and women from California, United States. WONDERFUL LISTENER when I remember to shut up; pretty good talker anyway when I forget. I tend to outwardly show more of my jockish side than my inwardly stronger creative and intellectual side, and I'm pretty hard to categorize. I'm fun but dependable; strong but capable of a lot of tenderness and passion; and outright archaically honorable (while still maintaining a healthy degree of lechery).
I'd like to find someone who can really share my life, so that I'm not constantly choosing between her and the other things that are important to me. (Also, I want to feel that the person I’m supposed to be closest to actually *knows* me.) Like virtually everybody, I have a job to pay the bills, but the things I do outside of it are more what define me. Among other things, I'm working on a better way for people's creative content to be discovered online.
I'm looking for an attractive partner who's well-balanced, warm, and acutely alive between the ears. Good verbal playfulness and a fondness for the well-turned phrase are musts. Being unpretentious is also important to me. Some creative ability of your own would be nice to have, but not at all essential. Double bonus points if you have a nice singing voice, and triple bonus points if you're good at improvising harmony.

Date single man from California, United States. I enjoy equally reading a book of poetry as I enjoy a trail run, a visit to an art museum as much as a visit to the mountains. Trying to keep my intellectual, emotional and physical fitness at the highest level I can.
I do understand, that such a brief statement will not attract much attention. Sorry for my brevity. I am more than willing to give lengthy details after we make our initial contact.
There is nothing I can do about my height or age. Nevertheless, as I am hesitatingly heading towards the sunset, I am still alive, still able and willing to live and laugh, to be.
I am not divorced, only separated. Several ladies expressed their utter condemnation of that particular status as if quite inferior to a "divorce". If you actually think instead of applying arbitrary "strict rule", you will have to realize that neither word precisely and truly determines the quality and quantity of my relationship with my spouse.
I would like to have a partner who enjoys and shares with me strenuous physical activities, lack of TV, interest in inquisitive and reflective intellectual probes, spiritual, physical and emotional courage that goes beyond my income, my occupation, model of a car I drive, the date of my retirement, etc...

Date a soulmate from California, United States. Some friends think I'm funny, and I've been called bright. I'm interested in almost everything, but most of my 'recreating' just now is music (play trumpet) and folk dance-related (it's Festival season, after all!). I love to try new things, like ethnic foods, places, and kayaking (brand new adventure!).
Am using my time between jobs now to reorganize my home, and am exploring starting a business - used furniture. I've always loved tramping around junk shops to antique stores (don't forget Goodwill stores!) and never seem to be done 'decorating', so thought I'd explore that interest in furniture as an outlet for me and a service to others. But I'll still look for 'regular' work!
I enjoy taking care of my outdoor space, including plants and critters. I feel strongly that there's room for us all - well, except maybe the black widows. Want to do more outdoor stuff, as well as read more, and enjoy what life offers. Giving back is important to me, as is taking care of everyone I love and as many more as I can manage.
The picture is a couple of years old, but I haven't changed too much. Gravity has worked more of it's magic, and folks taller than I can now see some grey . . . The ear is my dad, just turned 97 in North Carolina - an at-least annual destination for the foreseeable future. I'll try to get a current pic up soon. Not completely clever with cameras and electronics. My sons are too far away to lean on now, so it's another thing I do for myself - and would gladly give up!
My dream man would be emotionally stable (at least no worse off than I), self-confident, hopefully a little 'handy', reasonably energetic, barbeque chef a plus, and dancer a miracle. A sense of humor is absolutely critical, a sense of adventure and wonderment is important, and the desire to see what tomorrow brings is what makes waking up worthwhile.
