Date a soulmate from Poway, United States. So, here’s the kind of guy I am. Two summers ago I rode my bicycle across America.
We stayed in tents and roughed it. This last summer I rode it across Iowa (the RAGBRAI) and then across Wisconsin. This country is beautiful with a lot of wonderful people in it. To me it’s best explored this way. Because of an injury (and I have to admit age) I’m finding that there are other ways to explore. Among other things, I am looking for someone to explore with. I like intermediate hotels (of course I like the expensive ones but…why?) There is so much more to spend money on after a good nights sleep.
I am entering a second occupation…web design and graphics, after retiring from a life long occupation. I’m going back to school, who knows, degree number 4? One of my degrees is in commercial art and I am looking forward to going back to it.
If your looking for someone to pick you up in their Mercedes full of money and wisk you off to exotic places…well count me out. I’m not a financial wizard but I can and do take care of myself and don’t worry about it. (keeping it real) I prefer a bed and breakfast in a small quaint town in rural Virginia, Vermont, Colorado, who knows even California. Looking forward to a European visit.
I have 5 grown kids. Four of them live away, unfortunately. One is “maybe” living with me. He has a bathroom and bedroom here but do I see him? He is 20 years old. I love all my kids dearly. They are my world to me and I visit them frequently for extended periods of time in Seattle, New York City and Virgina.
I am looking for a girl (woman, lady) who isn’t so interested in an hour make-up session every day, but knows how to look good either way, made up or not. I’m looking for a girl who takes care of herself. I try to keep in good physical and mental health and am looking for the same in a partner, that is important to me.
I was in the army in the early 70’s but objected to our policies and let it be known. (never arrested, I'm not that kind) I was a kind of rebel for the cause. I have learned a lot since then. I understand the world situation and support the US and it’s causes. I just mention that part of my past because it might help explain what kind of girl I am looking for. I have not always supported the conventional way of doing things but have known and advocate the value of working within the system. I know that sounds funky but I’m trying to explain that I am not the kind of guy looking for that sorority girl type who has been married to the guy who has worked to support her and the family while she primps and fusses around the house and now she is looking someone so that she can continue that style. I’ve look and look and look at profiles of ladies who appear to belong on the cover of Family Life or Vogue or whatever. By the same token I am not the kind of fraternity guy that is “too sexy for my shirt”. I would like someone who knows how to live and enjoy camping or goofing off, going to the mountains, visiting relatives, enjoying the beauty of all of life, trips to see the falling leaves in Vermont, letting go and having fun! Let’s live some.
Finally, I talk a lot (to anyone and everyone) I watch football (not to excess) I like to go out of doors, I cry at sad movies, I am sentimental, I don’t yell or get angry, but with all that in mind I am not even close to perfect though I try my best.

Meet a soulmate from Poway, United States. My kids would say that I always told them to keep things in balance. I am doing a much better job of that now that I am retired. Did not keep the "fun" as a priority when I was in the corporate world. I am much better at that now and "fun" comes from many places.
I enjoy walking every day for my health, both physical and mental.
I like to be outside - at the ocean or in my backyard.
I like beer in a bottle, Mexican food and strawberries.
Love to cook and to take cooking classes.
There is nothing better than spending time with my granddaughter. She is just pure joy and funny to boot.
