Date men and women from United States. I am now widowed after a wonderful 42 year marriage to my loving wife. I lost her to lung cancer January 2012 and I'm really missing her great character and way of caring for everyone around her. I am new to this newfangled system for finding people to date, and have to say I am not very pleased with the results I have seen so far. I feel that while searching for that special person to come into our life we are held back by both the sites that are supposed to be helping us meet and by the filters we each put in place to make sure we only me the 'right' people. I am much the same as the rest of the people but I feel we will never get past the sites we are using to find someone if we are so quick to judge each other and rule everyone out as a possible match.
No one wants to waste time but who's to say we might be passing up that perfect match and will never find it because we have our sights set too high or our expectations poorly written.
A perfect match may not look perfect in the profile picture but may have a heart of gold and a character like no other. That description may not sound like the person you are looking for but keep in mind we don't all express ourselves as well in text as we can with our words and our heart, and some are so eloquent with their written English that they can cover up their other misgivings. It is the whole picture that we need to look at and then it still takes some time to meet a person and get a sense of who they are and what they are about. I just wish it was an easier process to find a friend and possible lover and get to that first personal meeting to find out if we are on the right track or totally lost. Sorry but I feel the majority of us will remain unhappy and lonely while the search goes on for that perfect match, when in all reality it doesn't even exist, We make the relationship perfect and it takes work from both ends, but it will only happen if we let it, and then we can work at making it perfect.
