Well I'm back. -sigh- Why is this so difficult? No, I'm not going to go into a tirade about all the bad dates I've had. Just the opposite is true. There are a lot of great women out there and I've made some good friends during my search. Finding the one who is "just right" is the hard part. Goldilocks, where are you?
I hear the same complaints from women all the time so I'll address those first. I'm gainfully employed, have never been in trouble with the law, have never done drugs, and all 3 of my children have the same mother. I barely even drink. I'll have a couple beers occasionally but really just don't like alcohol. I'm just a normal guy with a normal life.
Balance. What a great word. It sums up my lifestyle nicely too. I work out regularly and love to hike, ride bikes, etc, but I'm not above spending a weekend on the couch for a movie marathon. I enjoy going out and socializing but also love to stay in. My job is rewarding and I love doing it but you'll rarely see me bring work home. I work to live, not the other way around.

My personality is very easy-going. I rarely get upset and never over little things. I can be gregarious and bold but also pensive depending on the situation. I'm very empathetic but not a pushover. I love intellectual pursuits and deep conversations about anything or nothing. My only vice is tobacco and would love to have someone nag me to quit .
I'm not going to say much about the woman I'm looking for. The way I see it, if I interest you, you'l probably interest me. One thing though, please, PLEASE be emotionally available. At our age we all have a little baggage, but if you're so emotionally damaged from past experiences that you can't even function in a relationship, please spare me the heartache. Back to the relationship thing. I can't stress enough how much I'm looking for a real partner. Someone I can stand beside through everything and who will do the same for me. I seek mutual understanding, compassion and an understanding that neither of us is perfect and will stumble once in a while. I guess I'm a little unusual as men go because I'm an excellent communicator and truly believe that no relationship can survive without it.
