I am a classically trained clarinetist and I love just about all classical music—heck, just about all music! I am especially fond of symphonic works, both traditional and contemporary orchestrations like those of Danny Elfman and international and/or tribal music, techno, trance, bluegrass, symphonic bands, Pink Floyd, Roger Waters' solo work "Amused To Death," Flight of the Conchords, Gustavo Dudamel, Old Crow Medicine Show, Evita, West Side Story, The Residents, Negativeland, Joe Bonnamasa and many, many others.
The environmental movement and the conservation of wilderness areas have always been keen interests of mine. Never have been able to figure out why natural history is not a mandatory subject matter in K-12. I like to be informed and look at information and data as being critical to our survival as individuals and together, specie-wise. Religion does not interest me unless it involves direct action, civil disobedience and the like. Bible thumpers, Evangelicals, Jehovah Witnesses, Scientology, and the whole L. Ron Hubbard thing I do not particularly care for. It is not that they are not good people, it is just that they are not on my "to do" list. Doomsday prophecies, the Mayan calendar, December 22, 2012, Lemurians and Satan all provide me with hours of good, quality laughter! Laughing is therapeutic, without a doubt and so is good, oral intimacy.
I like doing art in many varied mediums and performance art is particularly nice. Art is therapeutic, defies linguistics, breaks through cultural barriers, is accessible, and, I believe, is the most important of human endeavors.
I have been told that I am witty, humorous, sometimes dorky and a very passionate and talented person (in bed). :) Life is short- so make the best of it at all times. Spontaneity is often very rewarding and rarely regretful. Life is sacred, especially non-human life forms. I am at home when in nature and I like to garden, create art, research topics of interest for pleasure and for compensation, natural history, animals, plants, fungi, etc. Intelligent conversation and the ability to make one laugh and to laugh at one’s self is always good. I am entrepreneurial and have a very creative, problem solving mindscape. I have lucid dreams and I sleepwalk every once in awhile. I also have been known to say some weird things when I am sleeping or falling asleep. I would love to find a new friend that shares some of the same interests that I have.
