I've lived in Bakersfield most of my life and I actually kind of like it here. Sure the weather isn't great but the city has that small town vibe without the annoyances of a big city. Plus the beach and the mountains are just a short drive away.
I'm definitely a geek-at-heart. I graduated with a degree in computer science and currently run the IT department for a fire protection company. I'd call myself an optimistic pessimist; the glass is half empty, but at least I have a glass :)
