I grew up in Huntsville, but my parents moved here from northern Kentucky. My dad hired on with the government and my parents decided to stay in Huntsville. They are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year and just returned from a month-long trip to France, Spain, and Italy. It would be so nice to meet someone and travel like my parents do.
Since my parents grew up north of the Mason-Dixon line, I didn't grow up eating collard greens, fried okra, or fried tomatoes. When I went away to college in Mobile, AL, my friends turned me on to all kinds of good stuff. I still love to enjoy a crawfish boil when given the opportunity.
