It's important to live close to a major airport that can allow me to escape to a friends house for a weekend visit, go to California to see my family or the capability to fly me non-stop to Frankfurt. Not like I do this every weekend. It's just nice to know the option is present.

I stayed in Louisiana far too long. I guess I just didn’t know any better and I have lots of friends there so it was easy to do. In 2006 I took my first trip to the mountains of Colorado. It was August, and if you know the deep south that means both temperature and humidity in the high 90’s. Contrast that with Steamboat in the summer. I finally knew where I wanted to be. Colorado! It's such a beautiful place. I love to be outside.
It took a few years to make the transition to Colorado. I spent a couple of years in Chicago, but with the plan of moving you’re here as soon as possible. In 2008 I made the move to Ft. Collins after spending 6 weeks out west on my motorcycle "researching" places to live. Just before moving I was hit by the economic downturn and lost my job. After being in Ft. Collins for about a year I found a position in Denver. I commuted for several months and them made the move to Westminster, where I am now.
I miss all of my friends back home and sometimes have feelings when looking at all of the Facebook stuff. I go back at least once a year and usually stay in New Orleans for a couple of days while there. I really haven’t made many friends here. I was in a relationship that ended a few months back and spent most of my free time in the mountains. I do have a few friends up there but my life is down below and I need to connect with people here.
I started my private practice in October of last year and it's starting to do well. It’s been a lot of work but the payoff is tremendous. I’m creating the life I really want. Work-play balance, financial prosperity, sustainable physical health, true happiness, and peace of mind, and most of all doing work that is completely fulfilling. If I can do this for the rest of my life I will have lived the dream. I discovered what I wanted to do when I was 16. it's been a long and indirect journey but I've finally made it.
