I’m a multi-national mutt, having grown up in Australia, spent a decade living in London, and then the last 7 years in the USA, first in Washington D.C. and now SF, which has given me a number of things including an interesting accent, an extensive knowledge of cocktails, and the ability to speak fluent restaurant in 7 different languages.
I love the Bay area, and I still like to travel and seek to experience people and cultures not just to see places. Exploring and sharing that with someone produces memories that no camera can capture. I’m an inveterate story-teller (thanks, 1000 years of Irish bardic family tradition) which tends to make me curious and lead me into interesting situations ... such as the time when I was drinking flaming cocktails in a hotel bar in Rome, surrounded by 300 Italian riot police ... but I’ll save the rest of that one for another time.
In terms of relationships, I believe it’s important to be a good friend, to respect differences without compromising your own, and to keep a positive outlook. I learned a lot from being married (which was a while ago) especially about myself. Chemistry is important, trust is essential, and communicating is critical.
So who do I like to meet? Someone with an off-beat sense of humor to match mine, and who’s stylish, but not obsessed with how they look. They’d like to travel and be adaptable and adventurous, the kind of person who is happy to plan a trip and still leave room to be spontaneous.
