I'm a Cape Town based artist and writer, I make an annual pilgrimage every year to LA to spend a few months with my daughter, I'll be in Venice till the end of August. I'm full of contradictions, but like most creatives tend to be introverted and independent. I enjoy taking risks and stretching myself physically and intellectually, I'm sometimes lazy, sometimes disciplined. I spend my days crafting sentences, at times the process is excruciating, but when my words start to sing on the page, I'm in heaven. Music plays a huge part in my life - my current writing project is a biography of legendary South African musician Syd Kitchen.
I love the fact that men and women are different. I'm drawn to the dark as well as the light....Relationships can be mysterious and magical, and I value that. I know that there's much more to life than surface, India is a place close to my heart, dreaming of exploring Tibet and Bhutan and hiking again in the Himalayas. The older I get the less answers I have for those big questions - but Buddhism makes sense to me, particulary Vipassana meditation - I've done several ten day retreats..
I don't believe in Mr Right, but Mr. Right Enough should have some of these qualites: Passionate about whatever he has chosen to do with his life, a leader in his field, or a visionary. Intelligent, compassionate, sensitive, unconventional, enjoys exercising in the outdoors, knows that material wealth rarely brings emotional security. Probably doesn't own a suit.
