Date a soulmate from California, United States. I watched an old movie the other day (Murphy's Romance) and it had one of my favorite lines in it. James Garmer's character says "I'm in love for the last time in my life". If I were being competely open I would say ideally that is what I am looking for. That last, long term relationship that starts with an attraction, grows into affection, and firmly takes root as a committed relationship. I told you it was an ideal! On the other hand it would be fun to just meet other people who are seaching for friendship.
I asked a good friend how she would describe me and she said I was kind, intelligent, and funny. That's why I love my girlfriends! I am proud of the fact that I am still good friends with some of my girlfriends from high school years earlier. We have saw each other through the good, bad,and the ugly.
I am a bit of a late bloomer career-wise. I went back to school to finish my education after my children were born and were all in school. Education - formal or not - is important to me. I would like to meet someone who views life as an adventure and is open to learning new things and considering other perspectives. In other words, someone who is not close minded. I consider having a sense of humor very important. I could not imagine trying to get through life's challenges without humor. I would appreciate someone who truly enjoys young people, and has a good relationship with the children in their lives. I enjoy trying new things and love to travel, but I don't enjoy crowds - unless its a ball game. I like to go to baseball games especially if it is sunny and a little breezy. I love the sounds of the game and eating a hotdog outside. I would like to meet someone who enjoys being outside whether it is working in the yard or sitting on a beach watching the waves roll away. I like to go camping as long as its not too isolated ( a little scary - watched too many crime movies) and hiking around Pinecrest Lake. I find humor in everyday events and appreciate the everyday routines of life. I prefer organization, but am working on that. I would like to meet someone who is comfortable with themself and is not uncomfortable with quiet moments. Talking is not always necessary - sometimes just being around someone you care about is very fulfilling. My perfect match would be someone who is kind - not only to other people, but to the environment, and to animals. But, as I tell my students "do not confuse my kindness for weakness", I would like to meet someone who is confident without being arrogant, and honest without being foolish.
What do I do for fun? I haven't been to a concert in years unless you count taking my daughters to see N'Sync or Britney Spears (before she got a little skanky) But I love music - Billy Joel, Neil Young, Boz Scaggs, Doobie Brothers and Aaron Nevile are long time favorites. Last broadway show I attended - The Producers, which was hilarious. I have tickets to see the Jersey Boys this summer. I would enjoy meeting someone who enjoys music, theater and an occasional trip into the city for a little culture. I haven't walked through China town in years and think it would be a good way to spend the day with someone. I love a good drive to nowhere and back, and enjoy a laugh out loud movie.I also enjoy the foothills and carry on a family history of being fascinated by rocks. Can't explain it - it must be some kind of Native American connection...
And last but not least, lets talk about appearance. I have been told I look much younger than my age, and I think it is because I have a young sense of humor. I like to take care of myself and would like to meet someone who does not feel their age. It is just a number...
