Date a soulmate from California, United States. I'm generally happy with life and looking to find someone who might be in a similar situation. Local person, focused on something--work, art, an activity of some sort--who likes to socialize a certain amount and enjoy the good things and people around. I like hiking with friends, in Marin and Sonoma especially, and have a small spunky character/dog who I take to the Berkeley Marina and Pt Isabelle regularly. I just got a tent and plan on taking more weekend trips to the coast, and the mountains, although I'm not great with roughing it. (Got that padded air mattress, too.)
I have dated on and off since my divorce 10 years ago (has it been that long?!). But for the past two years I've taken a break. A new, totally engrossing job assisted with that, but things at work have settled down and seem to be at a more normal level (for the moment, anyway). So I am now, somewhat reluctantly, rewriting this profile.
I live near the Bay Bridge and work most days in San Francisco. It's great to have regular access to SF again, but I'm definitely an East Bay person after many years in the area. This is home now but I've lived in a number of other places and have family scattered about, including in Miami where I spent my early years. Living near the water is important to me, and when I look out at the bay and the ocean, it brings me an enormous amount of peace. Working on creative projects at home, listening to music, drinking coffee, and taking dog walks with friends are the other things that make my life meaningful. I've had a time when I was involved politically but don't really find the time for that now. My thoughts are still engaged with those ideas and concerns, but I'm not spending time on it any more, except when there is something absolutely enthralling that I need to go hear about or support.
What do you like and where do you enjoy being? Do we have things in common?
