Relocating home from the Match Witness Protection Program in Europe where I spent the spring and summer months over the past several years at undisclosed locations near major European cities. I was convicted of several felony counts of terminal flirtation, commitment phobia, and several counts of age prevarication, (but was acquitted on all counts of photographic augmentation). I was also charged with misdemeanor profile embellishment but those charges were dismissed when I re-canted previous statements and admitted that I have never walked on the beach after dinner, and that I am not equally comfortable in tux or jeans. I cooperated with Match authorities and rolled over giving the (user) names of women I have encountered who have practiced photographic falsification. My sentence was then reduced to 6 months in Europe and 6 months of home confinement in the USA, currently in Los Angeles. (Not sure which is the punishment.) It is really not so bad as I do enjoy the values and visuals of Europe as well as the dynamics and diversity of LA.
I am allowed visitors, so here is some information about me, in case you are adventurous or a-broad. Personal characteristics that describe me: casual, caring, competent, cerebral, creative, curious, coach able, compassionate, concerned, considerate, contemplative, consultative, consensual. My interests include writing, politics and international events, cultural psychology, European architecture, sports strategy, and family. Humor and laughter and good conversation are most important.
I spend considerable time visiting family in the Boston area, south Florida (Boca and West Palm Beach ), and SF Bay area. In Europe, I was able to choose a different location each year, and have lived in several cities (but never Paris) including the Tuscany, Milan, and Como areas in Italy, and Berlin and Munich in Germany. I will not be returning to Europe to live other than a few weeks here and there. Will be spending much more time in Boston, as my (unusually healthy) mother celebrates her 100th birthday July 2011.
My roots are east coast: Boston ( Newton ), Washington DC, and Pennsylvania. Have a BA degree from Harvard (more perceptive and strategic than academic and intellectual) and a Masters from Penn State. Family is important to me. Have an adult daughter whom I single parented from age 13 through college. She and my grandson live in SF Bay area (wine country).

First, I'd just like to say after having read a great many profiles, that I'm absolutely amazed at the incredible accomplishments of the women of Match.com; they climb mountains, jump horses, fall out of airplanes and shoot whitewater rapids, then touch up their lip gloss and curl up with a glass of wine and a book or maybe throw a last minute, candelight dinner for twelve. And that doesn't even include the other stuff like running a household, raising babies, walking the pooch and pursuing a career. And what the hell have I done? Obviously, not much. Secretly, I do know who really makes this country great. Much as I hate to say it, 'cuz it could get me beat up, but it ain't us boys.
So, who am I? Well, I'm 62 and while some want to lie about their age, I'm perfectly content that I've actually made it this far and still have a sense of humor and a curiosity about this magical thing called Life. I spent 6 years in the U.S. Army as a low observation reconnaissance helicopter pilot with part of that time in a little Southeast Asian paradise. I've got a Bachelors' Degree in History and an extremel valuable Minor in Oriential Art History. I spent two years in law school (I'm still on a Leave of Absence and it's only been over thirty years) before being seduced by real estate development, property management and construction. And while I can play at being sophistocated and smooth, the truth is, I'm just a knuckle-dragging carpenter, with a talent for building everything from high end condominiums to flamenco guitars. That said, I really do appreciate the difference between Lalique and Limoges, cumin and cardamom, Delacroix and Diebenkorn and if the damn cabernet is too tannic. While I'm enthralled with the cuisines of Italy, Mexico, and France, and to a lesser degree, Japan, I'm convinced a big, fat hamburger is still the perfect meal.
I'm a sucker for ancient ruins, having visited many of the early civilizations of the American Southwest, a few old rocks in Greece, homs and Hama in Syria, the stunning Turquioise Coast of Turkey, Pyramids of Giza and virtually all the accessable ancient cities of Mexico. Yet there's still so much more out there; Tikal, Machu Picchu and Angkor Wat, to name a few. But wait! That's not to say I'm only interested in dead places. I still want to explore more of the vibrant cities of England, France, Italy, Spain especially Andalusia, and Greece and then there's the entire Pacific Rim.
So what am I looking for in a woman? That's easy. Someone who's smart and educated - by educated, I don't mean someone who's just warmed a seat in countless classrooms - but someone rich in the lessons of life with a thirst to learn more. Someone who's sassy and confident, who breaks down barriers with intellect, energy and femininity. Someone who can get splattered with mud or paint, but never surrenders the fact that she's a woman and expects to always be treated as such. . .never "one of the boys."
What else?
Someone who's witty and clever, who laughs easily and has those sexy little crow's feet when her face lights up with joy. Someone who can hurl thunderbolts one minute then charm the scales off a snake, the next.
