I am a "together" guy -- intelligent, observant, level-headed with good common sense, down-to-earth, positive, non-controlling, supportive, reliable, 6', 195-200 pounds. I'm in reasonably good shape (I jog), which enables me to eat what I want (pretty much). Some might not see it, but I do feel I need to lose 10 pounds. I have been told that I look attractive and sexy. Some women who had a reason to look at my drivers license have remarked, "You DO NOT look 60 years old." Apparently I don't exactly fit the stereotype of someone my age.
My musical tastes are varied. Right now the CD rotation in my car includes Boney James, George Benson, Naturally 7, Atlantic Starr, Billy Valentine, Dinah Washington, Mana, Santana, Bruce Springsteen, Teddy Pendergrass, Rocky Duwani. I'm looking forward to attending the Ravi Shankar 90th birthday concert at Disney Hall in September.
I enjoy doing various fun and stimulating social activities, like attending music concerts (there's lots of great jazz, pop, rock, R and B, reggae and other genres of music at FREE venues), taking short trips (by car, plane or boat), going to plays, boxing matches, cuddling while reading to each other and TV in bed, and other activities that bring us closer together in fun and pleasure.
I have a passion for the work that I do (college teaching, research, writing, and selling investment-grade insurance retirement plans). However, a fulfilled man must have more than work alone. Truth be told, when it comes to choosing a lover for intimacy, we all have aesthetic and anatomical preferences and deal breakers. Two idiosyncrasies I have: (1) My preferred partner must take good care of herself (health-wise). My partner must be height/weight proportionate. I am physically attracted to women who are normal weight, who have not let themselves balloon to over 25 pounds overweight. I think usually this may be an indicator of level of attention to her personal health needs. (2) Sure looks matter, as does how a person feels about herself. I prefer a partner who is emotionally secure with who she is and what she looks like, even if she has a few wrinkles and is not a "raving beauty." I like being with a woman who tends toward natural grooming, with limited make-up. My partner must feel reasonably secure about her looks without needing to apply a THICK "mask" of make-up, wigs all the time, and/or false this and that.
I'm certainly not perfect, and I'm not seeking perfection in my partner. But the odds of us "hitting it off" are greatest if you are upbeat, reasonably secure within yourself, professionally successful, comfortable giving as well as receiving, considerate, a good communicator, affectionate and sensitive toward your honey, at least somewhat adventurous/open-minded, and able to function without excessive use of (or dependence on)alcohol or drugs.
