Date someone special from United States. The options don't include stock market watching or "tea" rather than coffee, or walking my Golden, so I'll insert them here. I'm not really legally separated. I have slept in a separate room for 15+ years. Haven't had relations with the mother or our two children since Sept 91 when our last daughter was conceived. Loved the 680 corridor in the East Bay where I used to work-Didn't want to move to SoCal - missed my girls too much. We live separate lives except for the business of raising our children and now that they both are away at university, I have a bit more personal time available. Except that I'm the prime care giver to the family puppy who is a sweetie. She is non-judgmental and totally loyal. She is really not demanding, has a great bladder and doesn't eat very much for a large breed dog. She has a great temperment compared to the male Golden we had before her. Now you know more about me. My girls have photos of me on their FB pages, but I don't subscribe. If you still feel like chatting... I am well educated, respectful of women, don't like to be patronized, not fond of sarcasm. Like mid-west values, hate Chicago politics, question self-righteous SF left coast loonies and Nanny-state thinkers. Enjoy home projects.
A nice woman, who takes care of herself, is self-assured, 5'3" - 5'7" tall. Open minded and not set in progressive left wing land. As for "a little patient", I can be patient but I don't suffer fools gladly. As for "a little romantic", I used to be and can be when in pursuit, but there is no one to practice with in my current situation so that "gene" is in hibernation waiting to be awakened by the right person. I appreciate smart capable resourceful and responsible people. What can I say? I like conversations, not arguments. I enjoy happy smiling faces. Not a Pollyanna, but a pleasant positive outlook would be nice.
Just to clarify, I have cooked since I was young, owned "Joy of Cooking" since I was 19... but I would enjoy preparing a meal with someone special, like I did when I was single and dating. Of course it was romantic, how can feeding each other not be romantic? But as time goes by and I am fending for myself most of the time, just me and the dog 90% of the time..., the microwave has become the best invention of all time...ha ha ha. Side note: I'm surprised how many profiles indicate they smoke. Even if it is "socially" I'm very sensitive to smoke, over-the-top perfume, etc. Thanks for your interest, but I likely will not reply if you are not in California, Western / Mtn. States, Toronto, or Vancouver. No humidity. Yes, I'm Cdn.
As you may have seen from the recent photos, I did find a little two seater sports car. It sure makes my heart pump faster when I drive it - that was the excuse I gave the nurse taking my vitals before my check up with the doc last visit... I forgot how much attention one needs to give to the simple task of driving! The clutch work came back easily after 26 years - since the last time I owned a 2 seater sports car, but I really have to stay attentive all the time, (I'm the "automatic" transmission, now.)

I am a Michigan gal with traditional values, had a very normal Father Knows Best upbringing, charmed by California, have a Midwestern work ethic and a love for family and travel. Want to come travel with me? I particularly enjoy live theatre and concerts, the beach, the water, dancing, movies, sporting events. Cooking and entertaining are favorite activityies of mine, ranging from candlelight dinners to having friends over for margaritas. I walk nearly every day for 2-3 miles. If I can do it by the ocean, even better, but my neighborhood is the next best place. Nature trails work too.
I have a wonderful daughter who lives in Seattle with her husband and 3 dogs, who I see often. She was born in Hawaii where we lived for 11 years before moving to CA. I still have family in Michigan and try to visit there frequently.
Though I have accomplished many good things in my life and I consider myself very fortunate, it can be so much better to have a great guy to enjoy it with. How terrific to create new experiences, new memories and to have the thrill of a new relationship. You never do know what life has in store from one day to the next, and I think it is time to seize the day!
