I'm Jewish by birth, but areligious, with a secular interest in Buddhism. I value language and literature (Don DeLillo, T.C. Boyle, Paul Auster and Jorge Luis Borges are among my favorite writers), history, the arts (especially music, film and theater), the beauty and serenity of nature, travel to cultures radically unlike our own, good ethnic food, and fine wine. I'm of medium height and build, quite fit, and youthful and good-looking for my age. I can appear reserved to strangers, but at heart am playful, tender, passionate and compassionate. I'm independent and can contentedly pass my time working, reading, listening to music, and hiking in the East Bay hills, but would love to share my life with a wise, graceful, lovely woman who values peacefulness, tenderness, and laughter. I’ve always enjoyed things physical (tennis, working out, bicycle riding, dancing, white water rafting and hiking are currently on my list), travel, cultural events, fine dining, and spending time at home. I have a good deal of control over my time and am able to take small trips spontaneously and large ones with notice. I continue to enjoy my careers - one of which has always been meaningful, the other of which has felt like playing monopoly with real chips. Recent activities include joining a Sangha group and doing some writing. I have a cat who understands me.
