Let’s first start with the prize. I asked a married woman friend of mine to describe what she thought of me:

This is the treasure that I seek… I am looking for that person who will put a smile on my face each and every day. This will come from her wit, her adventuress attitude, her gentleness, her love for those she does not know, and of course for her love for me. She should be mature, but have a playful heart. It is great to be silly at times. She would want to go out and see the world and explore different cultures. She would be kind and compassionate to all and truly understand the meaning of brotherly and sisterly love. Upon seeing someone in pain, she would at the very least, have the utmost compassion for him or her. Her love for me should be similar to the love that I would have for her. We would be equals, but would do anything for one another. Commitment and honesty would not be words, but daily actions. The love would be free flowing, like a gentle brook, always fresh and rejuvenating.
Even though I am a happy man already, if I were to find this treasure, I would be ecstatic. I would be like the little child watching the Macy’s 4th of July regular fireworks display and then seeing the finale. My heart would explode with joy.

Meet a soulmate from California, United States. Just like everyone else, I see myself through my own prism. So, I will tell you what my friends say about me (with some editorializations): I am beautiful but I don't know it (beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.) I am smart but I think everyone is smart (I'm always learning from other people.) I am spunky and feisty (haha, my favorites!) I am compassionate (I rarely turn down an opportunity to volunteer for a worthy cause.) I think of other people before I think of myself (I'm blessed to be surrounded by people who do the same for me.) I am a great mom (according to my sons.) I am the bomb (according to my students...got to laugh at that one!)
I am an artist and art teacher. I love to write. I am a huge sports fan...mainly basketball, baseball, and football. I thoroughly enjoy watching my sons or the special man in my life participating in a sport that's their passion. Having sons has helped me develop a strong interest in things like cars, sports, and grocery bills. So, I can talk about a variety of subjects...and I have excellent money management skills. :)
I am attracted to a thinking man who is athletic and/or artistic and doesn't take himself too seriously. A great sense of humor, confidence, and wisdom gleaned from life are some of the most attractive qualities that a man can possess. Great biceps, broad shoulders, and washboard abs are a plus... kidding...kind of. lol :)
I appreciate a man who is honest, who can be flexible, and who is generous in spirit. If you are set in your ways and unwilling to compromise about things, minor or major, then I'm not the woman for you. But, if you can compromise, then I will meet you at least half-way.
Love, just like life, doesn't follow a plan and isn't always convenient. What a shame it is when two people are crazy about each other but allow obstacles to prevent them from being together. I'd rather have something amazing that's far away rather than settle for something that's mediocre but convenient. I suppose I'm a hopeless romantic. I believe that love conquers all. If it's meant to be, love will find a way...and that's where the ability to compromise comes in.
Life and love are a white-knuckler of a rollercoaster ride. But, having the life and love you want is worth it. Just hold on tight and try not to throw up! :)

Meet people from California, United States. This is tough. Let's see - I was married for 24 yrs and am finding life awfully lonely without someone to share things with and to do things with. Whether it's hanging out around the house, cooking together, or gardening, life's much more meaningful and fun with a partner.
I would rather head to the beach to play some frisbee, paddleball, take a brisk walk, or even sit and watch the waves, than head to the valley or city. Driving through LA is not one of my favorite things to do. Although I do like to go to concerts. I like most kinds of music except rap and hip hop. I like to listen to live bands playing locally in clubs as well. I appreciate great musicianship. I don't drink alcohol - never acquired a taste for it. I wish I liked wine at least. Everyone I know loves to have a glass of wine to wind down and it always sounds so romantic, especially in front of a fire or watching the sunset. If I could just get it down!
I have 2 very independent teenagers (16, 18), who are great kids, and live at home. The oldest is heading out to college soon. I don't see them all that much because they have very busy lives and don't seem to get into much trouble. They study hard and work hard.
I am looking for an honest, sincere, respectful, fun guy with a great sense of humor to hang out with. I need him to be affectionate and also to be comfortable putting his arm around me or holding hands in public. He needs to be comfortable in his own skin and be able to communicate effectively. I can't stand arrogant or ostentatious people. I don't care what car you drive, how big your mansion is, or how much money you make. I prefer real substance in a person.

I am very fit...and workout in a jujitsu studio 4x a week....I am a certified kickboxing instructor through the National Association of Martial arts....I believe exercise shows discipline and self respect.
